--- (Edit: It kinda fell off its more of a 6 now (dropped it, ending sucks ass apparently so don't read it lol))
I didn't plan on writing a review on this manga but I just kinda felt like it so here I go. I won't go into details though, this is just for people that don't know whether or not they should start reading this manga.

A short summary: Boys Abyss is about a 17 year old student named Reiji. He lives in a small town with his family that has a lot of problems. His brother is a shut-in, his Grandmother constantly requires assistance with everyday tasks and without Reiji helping out, all of that would be too much for his mother to handle. Because of this, he can't leave the city and feels depressed because of it. He later meets Nagi Aoe, an Idol which he knows about because his childhood friend introduced him to her music.
She asks him to show her around town because she's new and after a while she reveals that she doesn't feel like she has any reason to go on living anymore and asks him to commit suicide together. They don't end up going through with it but they end up sleeping together that night which pretty much triggers the start of the story.

This is as far as I'll go because I'm trying to keep it spoiler-free. "What do you want to do in the future" is a topic that gets brought up a lot and it really makes you ask that question yourself. What do I want to do with my life? Reiji is constantly struggling to answer that question, and the more problems that appear, the harder it gets for him. After some thinking, "the future" is the cause of all the problems in this manga and that's what makes this manga and the characters relatable, at least to me because I've asked myself that question a lot before coming to a conclusion. The characters in this manga are overall pretty good and they mostly behave the way someone in their situation would.
I would like to see certain characters get fleshed out more though. It feels like the author forgets about some characters occasionally while trying to progress the story. The biggest problem that I have with this manga however, is that some characters do make really odd decisions at times. I won't go into details, but sometimes it feels like the author purposefully does this so he can create another problem and progress the story, which ends up feeling a little forced.

Besides some of the characters making questionable choices at times, it's really good and I'd definitely recommend it. It has a very unique atmosphere and I can't wait to see where the story is going.
