I know alot of people have already seen the film over the years and through watching it over numerous occasions I've come to create this review.
EXPLANATION
The film "a silent voice" Demonstrates the destructive effect it has on the bully and the bullied, the effects on bullying can vary by person but the film mostly focuses on depression, anxiety and suicide, "a silent voice" not only goes to teach it's viewers the consequences of actions that you may take but the friendship that can be created just by changing your actions, it's a tale of redemption and a dwindle of romance, It gives a strong meaning to something that's plagued modern society and the past.
ANIMATION
The visuals the anime portrays are stunning, the beautifully hand drawn pieces of art render very smoothly, each showing a beautiful background that fits what the characters are going through, though at times it can be seen that the backgrounds has been rushed but can be easily excused by amazing plot and expressionful voices.
MUSIC/SOUNDTRACKS
The music the film uses are very gentle and melodic, through sad scenes a slow but meaningful piece is played that fits nicely with the environment and another scene where shoko was to commit suicidean exhilarating piece was played, though sadly the film did not use as much music as other films and instead only used music at times where the film was getting exciting which conveyed a deeper more meaning to the scene.
CHARACTERS
The characters, given the most realistic emotions and feelings in anime (not saying that all anime's are unrealistic) with the more realistic approach to a problem that modern society is facing many individuals can feel connected and understanding, the characters that were portrayed in the film were perfect to their roles giving the story more of an edge and helps us viewers understand more of the story.
STORY
The story, so emotionally gripping with sadness, anger, and joy and many more emotions, the story was very well thought of, it was very aggressive when bullying was mentioned or being done but it was also very calm and saddening, the story was cheerful at times of forgiveness but also exciting wanting to know more, the story is gem it's very well thought of.
CONCLUSION
The conclusion to the story was a hopeful one, ending with joy and forgiveness, a very sad but heart lifting experience that many people can relate too, It shows how actions must be done with thought and gives us an insight to a problem our society faces today, it shows the harm of being depressed and falling to a point where only suicide is the option.
REVIEW OVERALL
I'd sadly have to give it a 99, if you were asking why, there were some flaws noticeable if you focus everything else besides the characters but their very small, if I could I would do a 99.5 but I can't so it stays at 99.
