~~ Absolutely no spoilers present~~

The Monogatari Series is no doubt a phenomenal series (as made crystal clear by its massive cult following).
To be more precise though, it is overall a fantastic series. There is a variation of brilliance in each arc. Bakemonogatari specializes in arthouse, emotions, and being weird but in a good unique way, while Nisemonogatari specializes in being lightweight and fun. Second Season rocked it in all those fields. So I guess you can say it's the perfect blend of Nise and Bake with every arc being an absolute banger. so let's take a look at each of them:-

ARC 1: TSUBASA TIGER

Just as I was starting to get bored of Hanekawa arcs, this one splashed some cold water onto my face. Nisioisin once again does not fail to impress with his creative genius. I loved the way her piled-up emotions that she kept cutting off were portrayed as apparitions, requiring her to work her way into accepting them (ie her feelings).

ARC 2: MAYOI JIANGSHI

A lovely mix of time travel, vampires, post apocalyptic worlds, sweet sweet shinobu-koyomi bonding and NON-LOLI BIG-TITTY ADULT HACHIKUJI Need I say more?

ARC 3: NADEKO MEDUSA

I was not very excited for this arc due to the impressions made by its predecessor Nadeko Snake, causing me to dislike Nadeko for the same reasons that Senjougahara and Shinobu feel the same. However, I was delighted to find that it was actually built on the exposure of Nadeko's true nature, which I really enjoyed. Plus the intro is a fucking certified hood classic.

ARC 4: SHINOBU TIME

A deeper dive into Shinobu's past,with more information about the mechanics of this world and how it wo-- hang on did ononoki just kiss Koyomi? KOYOMI KISSES SHINOBU? SLOW DOWN WHY IS HACHIKUJI KISSING KOYOMI? why does this all feel like a forced loli-fest-- WHAT THE FUCK HACHIKUJI IS DEAD?

ARC 5: HITAGI END

You thought Kaiki was your husbando in Nise? Wait till you watch this banger of an arc. Its a deep character-study of one of my most favourite characters. Not only that but we get to see a re-developement of Kaiki and Senjyougahara's relationship after he supposedly "ruined" her life. It's really fun to see all the different facets of someone who was portrayed to be Senjyougahara's enemy, but might actually be the opposite. Plus, it ends with a brilliant cliffhanger.

Seriously though, go watch it.
