It is very understandable that many people don't like this last season because it is very slow and in my opinion the lack of those gag scenes typical of Japanese sentimentals contributes a lot to giving this feeling of slowness.
Personally I think that this slowness is the good part of the lack of gags that I don't like even if it's very personal is the bad part because it's boring and I felt a little too much.
Characters:
Speaking of the characters instead I think that the two main girls Yui and Yukino are very good characters and also well developed and with very beautiful personalities and a really interesting evolution that starts from the course of the second season, the only thing I wear I don't like the fact that they are presented to us as the 2 choices of the protagonist when in my opinion neither Yui nor Yukino for their personality, for their past are made to be together.
I think instead that Iroha from all points of view was the ideal girl for the great chad Hachiman and I say it precisely because in my opinion the best part, what makes this anime one of the best sentimental ones, are precisely the interactions between the characters and those between Hachiman and Iroha were really cute and beautiful to look at.
Another really amazing character is Professor Hiratsuka, the only one who believed in the protagonist from start to finish who put up with him and helped him grow then I loved their last interaction or dance very much.
Instead other characters like Saki and Yoshiteru I found them really useless maybe he should have used them better.

The End:
At least I want to focus on the scene where Yukino declares his love for Hachiman and in general throughout the last ep because instead of showing me the usual kissing scene which, however beautiful, does not deepen their relationship and instead in my opinion, which I appreciated a lot preferred to deepen their relationship as a couple in the finale and show how the couple actually works, something that is not often seen in other sentimental ones.
