S is a supersecret, dangerous skating event. This whole show centers around it.
Now, if I were asked to give my favorite character, I don't know what I'd put.. Like. Maybe Reki? Or Cherry? Or MIYA? Or Langa?
The point is that, basically, all the characters are really cool (besides one)!
Shadow is someone you don't really like at all at first, but he grows on you when you see thatThen there's Cherry, and JOE.
Cherry is pretty much like me, I guess. Carla, his friend, is wonderful too.JOE is actually pretty likeable, for a brute-strength-typed character. He's a playboi, too.Adam is interesting. If you like him then cool xD He's basically a cross between Hisoka and Dio. :> In a scene of his childhood, it is actually Dio-level creepy, almost. His outfits can be kinda cool, at least.MIYA is pretty cool. He's a gamer boy, and a cat. He's also a child, andHow he acts did annoy me, but it's just because he's a child and acts childish at times, showing he's a well written character.
Tadashi is really epic, too.
And if course, the 2 stars of the show, Reki Kyan and Langa Hasegawa. Kyan's your ordinary friendly boy, while Hasegawa is a Canadian transfer student to Japan. He states to Kyan at one point that
Langa's mom and Reki's manager are both cool, too.
It's fun to ask people what their favorite character is, because everyone gives different answers and can defend any character well. They're all great, and my favorite is tied with four.
Before the mini races start, it goes like this: some people give a little words of wisdom, then the race starts. It's not rushed but it gets to the racing right away.
There's drama in the show, added by Reki. There's a filler episode or so. Everything's well-paced, though. Then they also go into the philosophy of 'Why do you do this sport (skate)?' as sports animes usually do.
All the minor characters play a part.
The show's OP is amazing. At first, it seemed pretty dull, but it really grows on you, and once you know the characters, it feels even better. I'd say that the OP is kind of like a summary of the show.
This show did help me understand skateboarding better. It is also very enjoyable and as good a sports anime as Haikyuu, in my opinion.
I actually want to get a SNOW-design skateboard and go skating, because of this show. ^^
