To begin with, it's necessary to acknowledge that my attention span on almost anything is very bad. Like very bad, I could literally read a novel and if the first page doesn't captivate me in any way possible, then I would most likely drop it. The same goes to anime/manga. It's safe to say that it's a personal prerequisite of myself for a media (Whether it may be a anime, manga, or anything) to be constantly engaging from the beginning so that I could bear through it till the end. And bleach does this feat remarkably. There are 74 volumes of Bleach and despite of its abundance in length, there exists no moment where I'm not engaged by the story, thanks to the jaw-dropping reveals, fights that made me in awe, and some of the gags that are unironically funny.
On top of that, despite of its popularity to be a "mere superficially-written battle-shonen with continual asspulls", I don't share the same perspective with the aforementioned description of this manga, tremendously. If you try to look after subtle details and nuances within this manga in a careful manner, you'd discern a PLETHORA of compelling and thorough references, whether it be a historical, philosophical, and religious symbolisms that ties back to thematic significance to the structure and the respective characters in the cast. If you want me to explain more on this matter, DM me as I’m trying to emphasize a spoiler-free review. I'm also going to put my emphasis on what I believe to be best facet that Bleach has able to execute: its delivery on the main message.
Within those 74 volumes, Bleach is able to execute a main message, simple yet very applicable in real life. Every single conclusion in Bleach's arcs always leads to the main message of this series, meaning that it has a subtle relation and it always exists within since the beginning, though perhaps subtle. The major characters in the cast also plays a major role in executing this crux, there exists an antagonist that completely foils the main message, where there also exists a character that embodies the main message. It's done in a way to evoke strong emotions; obviously, it's also thought-provoking and very interpretable, as almost everyone that I've met which has read Bleach shares a different interpretation with mine, on the main message of the series.
To end things with, Bleach has everything for everyone. If you like hot women, bleach has it. If you like hype fights sort of thing, bleach also has it. If you like a layered story with rich nuances and details within the thematic structure, bleach also has it. If you like cold characters, every single bleach's character are unironically cold. If you like an amazingly detailed art, Bleach has it. If you like poems that explores the respective character's psyche, delivers a thematic significance to the structure of the story, and also thought provoking at the same time, bleach also has it. Essentially, Bleach is a once in a lifetime all-you-can-eat buffet experience in a highly accessible manner. Hope this helps to convince you to read Bleach.
