New gen, old gen, any gen, Demon Slayer is above them all!
Plot 12/10
Demon Slayer has the most unique and interesting plot in all of anime. The main character, Tanjiro, has his family killed by demons in the first episode which sets up his hatred for demons. Killing a main characters family right off the bat is almost unheard of and so interesting and unique. Tanjiro's growth and development to become the strongest demon slayer was amazing. We see him struggle through adversity to overcome many challenges and it all comes together in episode 19 where we see Tanjiro elevate himself into strongest anime character of all time territory. After the best final battle in all of anime we actually see the characters getting to recover and train. This was also very unique because other Shounen anime usually just have their characters go from battle to battle without resting or training. It actually makes sense when Tanjiro gets a power up because he actually trains. This was fascinating.
Characters: 11/10
So many Shounen anime follow the same troupes for characters, but not Demon Slayer. Demon Slayer goes above and beyond when developing its characters. We have Tanjiro who struggles and overcomes so much which makes it hard not to root for him. Zenitsu, who is one of if not the most badass anime characters of all time. Inosuke, who is so wild and energentic which totally makes sense because he was raised in the wild! Genius writing and development there! Nezuko going from cute and timid, to super duper strong and powerful was amazing character development too. Giyuu and Shinobu were just the icing on the cake. Coolest anime duo of all time. The villains were great too. As each of the villains die their super duper sad back stories are revealed which could bring anyone to tears. So sad, which made them feel so real and relatable.
Animation: 10/10
No anime's animation comes even close to Demon Slayers. The fluid movements, great choreography, and amazing art style coming together makes for the best animation in all of anime.
OST: 12/10
Music to my ears. Most hype OST of all time. Makes the hype moments so hype and the sad moments so sad. The OST that played in the climax of episode 19 was the greatest piece of music of all time, nothing rivals the pure emotion evoked from that piece of music. The OST of Demon Slayer elevates it to a whole different level.
Op/Ed: 12/10
Best opening and ending in all of anime. Gurenge is probably the most satisfying thing I have ever heard in my life. Alongside the great visuals of the opening, it makes for the best anime opening of all time.
Overall: ∞/10
Best anime of all time. Enough Said.
