This is the tale of a man who must romance famous figures in Sengoku Jidai, and make sure that history follows either the correct course, or a better course.
This anime is a masterful presentation of ecchi, history, action and romance combined. In fact, I believe it should be textbook for how to make good ecchi series. Definitely leagues better than most of the popular ones such as DxD and to love ru, in just about every aspect. Only downside, no nipples.

In reality, this is simply an anime about a girl (oda nobuna) who is curious about the world outside Japan, and wants to unite the many different clans.
(and wants to bang the mc).
I genuinely believe this anime is more than your usual ecchi, and I am here not only to prove it, but generally give my two cents about this piece. While our oda is a tsundere, this personality develops more throughout the series as she grows as a leader. By the end of the series, we are presented with a very dere tsundere main heroine. The other characters get their own bits of development as well, the MC starts as a normal pervert, but becomes a pro™ strategist and retainer™ of Oda.

After the Dousan's death, we are introduced to more characters. Such as his retainer Mitsuhide. She starts out hating oda and her group, but after a few battles she becomes what I believe to be the secondary main love interest of the MC. She probably gets as much attention as oda gets by the MC at one point.

In my opinion, the main fault of this anime is most definitely the rushed plot towards the end. In my opinion, the animators tried to adapt as much as possible and got a really rushed ending. But after all, this anime (like most) is just an advertisement for the source material, and sadly in the case of this amazing piece the source is not completely translated. I have not gone through and analyzed the novels myself for accurate translations, but I intend to do so very soon.
There really is not a whole lot of ecchi anime that intertwine with history as well as this anime does. I study Japanese, and have actually written a few reports about this series that are quite interesting. There is a lot of historically accurate things shown in this anime, such as Jinmaku (or those big curtains that are "army tents" as you can see in the background of the first image I linked. This anime is actually one of the things that got me interested in Japanese studies because...

okay grading time
Music 7/10: Definitely the weakest part, is just your generic traditional Japanese music.
Characters 10/10: Oh hell yeah, samurai girls. Oda nobuna no yabou has them all, quiet loli? yep. Tsundere? yep. Onee-san? yep. tsundere petanko? yep. tomboy? yep. And most importantly all of them are COOL AS FUCK. I mean, this is just an ecchi anime, I wasn't asking for such amazing and interesting characters.

Plot 10/10:__ Yeah shit is cool. It basically follows oda nobuna's journey, but with some twists, and actually changes a lot of the events as well. I never saw any plot holes, and everything seemed sensical.
Animation 10/10: This is probably one of the strongest features of this anime. We get some fucking amazing animation, and actually reminds me of /anime/16009/sunday-without-god
OH WAIT THAT MAKES SENSE CAUSE MADHOUSE MADE BOTH. You can kinda instantly recognize madhouse 2008-2014 because of the absurd amount of contrast in the graphics, generally very warm as well. Explosions done very well, lots of action and cool battle scenes. especially love the one with the chuuni girl.

...ohhhh yeah look at that plot
