I honestly thought this series had potential, and I gave it a far shot since it was a new series, but to keep it short, this series is not good or worth getting into. I read passed chapter 100, so I feel my opinion is more than fair. This manga doesn't deserve or earn the attention it gets, and I'm glad people are starting to see this.
__
Dialogue __:
UGHHHHHH :( This is probably the worse part of the series or the second. Boring and corny, that's all the dialogue boils down to.CHARACTERS:
One of the huge core parts of delinquent manga is characters, and damn does this series have so many boring characters while continuing to add more characters before doing anything with existing ones. Characters in tr have way too little sides, soft but actually really strong, mean and strong, and mean but actually really nice. Also where the hell is any of the adults like holy shit they might as well not exist, there's like a handful but they don't do shit about these gang kids LMAO.
Protagonist:
WHAT A LOSER HOLY SH*T LMAOOOO. Ok, but to keep it real I like kind-hearted characters quite a bit, but they have to be able to hold their own or at least improve, which Takemitchy the main character in a delinquent gang manga doesn't do at all. He never gets better at fighting himself and constantly has to get saved by someone else and then in turn goes on a crying tangent.Secondary Characters/Side Characters:
. I can't stand Mikey his plot armor is beyond funny the amount of BS that happens in his fights are hilarious, in every fight is Mikey either one-shots or gets "beat" then one-shots the enemy. While the side characters seem way more interesting than Takemitchy their dept ends with their little quirks other than that their boring and their "sad" backstory aren't anything worth talkin about.
Antagonists:
Honestly, this manga did a good job of setting up the main antagonists but HA HAH HAH Kisaki's motive is nothing more than laughable and the rest are not worth talking about the antagonist in tr to sum them up their just villains of the week.
Female Characters:
I guess they're ok? There's only a handful and really do much at all or get any big attention.
Character Designs:
WHY DOES EVERYONE's NECKS DO THAT? Everyone is short and or so funny looking which really takes away from any "cool" moments or fights.Fights:
Beyond boring, all the fights are one-sided or end in a one-shot move, and even the then fight choreography is meh, and very uninteresting. Fights usually end up being about emotion, which wouldn't be a problem if I actually cared about any of the boring characters.Art :
I don't like this art style at all but I will say this it at least stands out and is its own thing, that being said it's not anything crazy or noteworthy.
ENJOYMENT/ENDING:
I can't think of why I even read so much of this garage other than it being like junk food at the time, but now I know the actual reason is that I was only reading things people told me were good and didn't get into series myself. I can't recommend this series at all unless you're under 18+ or in middle school and want to read your first delinquent manga. That being said, I can't tell who the series was meant to be for, it's not rough or hard enough to be for older readers but also has no problem talking about the rape of a character's girlfriend and then going back to making dumb jokes. Any other delinquent manga knows who their audience is but tr tries to do a lot of both roughness and softness, but it's really meant for a softer chill readers looking for a fun series not to think about.
Are you looking for an extremely soft start into delinquent manga? Tokyo revengers is exactly for u.
