So Overlord, the franchise I enjoy not because of the anime but those channels that talks about skip the contents of the anime.
For a very long time, I really want to watch isekai quartet. I had already watched Tanya, re-zero, and konosuba but never touch or interested in overlord before. That's the reason why I started overlord 4 months ago. The first time I watched the first half of Overlord s1 (around 1 month before season 4), I was underwhelmed and always wonder why it got highly praised despite being just ok. I watched the rest of s1 and half of s2 (especially the lizardman part) with basically no enjoyment. While I'm ready to give up on this series, I stumble upon these bizarre amounts of Overlord skip-content videos and realize how ridiculous the amount of content and context that was being skipped+rearranged in the anime. These missing lore, character development, and skipped content type videos are the ones that make me end up rewatching and finishing the entire 3 seasons. So yeah, the anime was basically a not-so-good representation of the lore and series in general but I still appreciate it.
So back to the present day and s4 was basically the same.
ART: The animation was ok, sometimes it was 5/10 sometimes it was 7/10. The CG wasn't as bad as 3rd season's "sheep" and definitely watchable.
STORY:
Story-wise, it's still pretty good. I definitely miss that time when ainz still moving around as momon and doing so much more stuff actively rather than just sitting down, while relying on his comrades or his feared influential existence. On the other hand, it was good seeing that he was finally able to trust and utilize his comrades actively/efficiently.
The negative part about the story was still pretty much the same as the last 3 seasons. it lacks so much freakin context as usual. Every time I finish 1 episode I will end up searching for these skipped content videos or waiting for AniNews or Espiritu (both are anitubers) to make one. Not mentioned, there was a huge chunk of context missing in the middle of seasons making some anime watchers confused. (The missing part will be adapted as a movie. the holy kingdom arc)
MUSIC:
The OP was a banger. The rest, I can't comment on it. I had almost no braincell for music. Music was basically just beeps and boops for me.
That's basically the end of my reviews. Sorry if it was a bit messy cause it was the first time I write reviews. Also, I prefer to tell stories rather than structured reviews. The show was overall enjoyable and I will definitely try to read the LN if I have any time. I still have to swallow around 15 volumes of Ascendance of Bookworm so it might take a while lol.
