There are only a handful of mangas (or manhwas for that matter) that managed to broke me the most. The Horizon is one of them.
The story takes place in a dystopian world, ravaged by a constant war between nations. A kid that survived the first onslaught was forced to witness a sea filled with dead bodies, including his mother.

When all hope seem lost, he found a girl his age inside a bus. Without much word, the two set out to find an "eden" by following a road. This road played a big role to the story.
There aren't a lot of conversation in this manhwa. But you could feel the intensity of each panel just as much if not a lot more than using a conversation. You don't need words to see the brutality of these panels.

The series itself tackled a brutal yet realistic depiction of a world in chaos. During their travel to find "eden" they encountered many people, those who went insane, those who tried to survived in the new world and those who tried to preserved what the old world used to be.
But, despite seeing all hell broke loose, the boy and girl didn't seem to lose faith at all. They didn't go into despair, they believed that there's paradise at the end of the road they're travelling. Despite witnessing many horrors and atrocity, the boy and girl stood strong. As they learned the truth of this new world, the brutality, even after seeing firsthand the tragic end to the old world, they did not give up. In this new world, this world of chaos, they did not falter. They still held on to that hope. The boy and girl were hopeful that the world will recover itself. All they had to do was follow the road, and that will be the end of their suffering, paradise was waiting for them, a world with no harm, a world of peace. So, what happened at the end of the road? What happened when they reached the end of the line? Will there be peace?
The artwork is one of a kind, it's chaotic, it's a mess. A perfect fit for the story they tried to convey.

We as a species are disgusting, we kill and destroy each other to get what we want. We disregard others for the sake of ourselves. We are a selfish species, we justify our way of doing despite doing harm to others. We are a ruthless species, we are savages. Nations go into war because of stupid reasons. The victims? Those who are caught in the middle, average citizen who had nothing to do with it. They didn't ask for this stuff to happen to them. But it did happen to them, to kids, baby, middle aged man/woman, or an old man/woman.
Be warn that the series is super depressing, there will be a lot of twist and turn throughout this 21 chapters and just make sure to prepare yourself for the worst.
