The Story ════ ⋆★⋆ ════ Twilight is the codename of Westalis greatest spy. With the rising tension between West and East, he's tasked with an elaborate plan to form a family and start a new life inside "enemy territory" to help maintain the truce between both countries. The story of Spy Family is really good. It has a good Iyashikei (healing/comfy) vibe to it while still managing to pack in nice character development and comedy. It has a bit of everything, and yet the manga has a good pace, so you don't feel like you're lacking or getting too much of something. Funny arcs, sports arcs, fight arcs, background arcs, and character development arcs. Everything just feels right. One thing that had a giant positive impact was how the manga approached war. Several times the author gives anti-war speeches that are really impactful and truthful. Personally, I think that's fantastic because we live in difficult times, and the tension between East and West isn't just a fictional concept nowadays.

The Art Style ════ ⋆★⋆ ════ The art is pretty good. Characters are pretty well designed; each has their own different traits and personalities that can be seen through the art (like facial expressions and clothing). Sometimes it feels somewhat like a shoujo with very white panels and a lack of background detail, but it didn't bother me since that happens in emotional moments.
As the manga is an action comedy, I'm pleased to say that the choreography is pretty well made and fights looks really good. Both in a martial arts viewpoint with good sequence of movements and on impactful shots.

The Characters
════ ⋆★⋆ ════
There are a great number of characters in this work; Twilight, his family, his agency, his family friends, and so on. They're pretty well made, and honestly, the different personalities that each one has not only add flavors to the story, but also add to the comedy. As I always like to talk about the main character, Twilight and his family are great. It's difficult to talk about main characters without talking about the family. I personally love the mix that they have as core characters and have nothing to complain about.

Conclusion ════ ⋆★⋆ ════ If you're like me, you skip everything and read only the conclusion because you don't want to get spoiled with other themes. So I will try to be brief on this point:Absolutely read it. Spy Family has a bit of everything, and yet it manages to not force you into just one thing. There are very funny arcs, amazing fight arcs, development arcs, and so on. I honestly can't find a reason not to read it.48.5 out of 51 users liked this review
