So we have Lucy keeping secrets cuz she thinks this is the best for David, we have David being an absolute meathead and following exactly the path his mentor (Maine) took. I love it when characters learn nothing from traumatic events. “I saw Maine get fucked because he upgraded too much so why don’t I do the same.” Rebecca, we’ll I like Rebecca but they don’t really develop her character much. Kiwi is absolutely braindead; “I’m smart enough to destroy my own team but I can’t recognise the fact faraday might be tricking me because obviously he’s more trustworthy than a team that would die for me”. Faraday is just a cunt he didn’t really do much wrong in terms of thinking of plans but fuck him. Arasaka? More like arafucka, shit corporation ruining lives. All in all, everyone in this universe is a selfish cunt, and whoever isn’t selfish is dead. I hate that everyone is afraid to ask for help, I hate that corporations are almost omnipotent in the show, I hate that relationships are never developed properly. Why did Lucy tell David about her dream, when she didn’t tell anyone else, why is everyone so surface level. And everyone that tried to go beyond that is dead. Fuck! Maybe that’s the point of the show. Perhaps it was executed perfectly demonstrating the cyberpunk world of desperation, loneliness, frustration, and overall fuckedness. Fucking Lucy man, you’re hot, but why keep secrets. If you only had an open dialogue with David all of y’all would’ve been alive. Also Lucy be like, “why are you living someone else’s dream( David’s mum, Maine, moon dream, etc.)” then goes on to live for David. It is what it is. Dreams are what you make of them, and I think it’s ok to live for someone else. The world is harsh and you might get fucked in that asshole by Adam smasher, but if Lucy survives, it’s all worth it.
I dunno why we need to ahve more than 2200 characters I kinda already said everything I wanted to. This forces me to go beyond character development and plot bruh. So in terms of music I think it paired up really well with the action scenes. I don't know if this was the intention but the music gave me the feeling that the fighting was all choreographed in a way; and we find out it's by Arasaka.
Other than that I absolutely LOVED the environment and all the props and sound effects. I haven't played the game before, but I feel these strong emotions about the story because of the immersion I get. The recurring imagery from the past during cyberpschosis, the changing environment as David progresses in his life. Or maybe I should say unchanging; I personally feel a core message of the show is that despite all that happens, no matter how much emphasis you place on what you find important, the Night City is unbending. It will always remain as it is, a prison of lights and distractions, removing you from finding your dream. Despite the deaths of everyone but Lucy, it's an inspiring message in a way that all of them achieved something beyond being muscle-for-hire, they could've just earned eddie after eddie and die without creating any change but being a legendary name. But they did more than that, they sacrificed themselves for despair and despondence through Lucy being on the Moon, but that's more than the never ending cycle of corporate stagnation Night City could or ever will produce.
