A prostitute that works at a place that satisfies perverts' weird requests, or so-called kinks.
STORY without spoilers
A story about a prostitute might seem like a shitty hentai but it really isn't. The story is quite realistic in the sense that some people expect to move to a city and prosper. In short words, people believe that moving to cities will automatically give you opportunities and make your life better, which is not the case. The story is about a country girl moving to a city, and life events eventually leads her to becoming a prostitute and joining a brothel.

Like said above, Memoirs of Amorous Gentlemen is a dark story about this young country girl that moves to a city. She is confused about how stuff works there and soon after arriving she meets this "handsome" man that helps her get out of a situation. Their relationship turns into a romantic one, but quite toxic. He is an artist but he doesn't have enough money. Soon after she finds out he has been cheating on her with a prostitute. She feels like he cheated on her because of her low-paying job not permitting her to take care of her boyfriend. She decides to sell her body for money in the streets and starts buying her partner's stuff and taking care of him. However, he keeps on cheating on her and also physically abuses her, which still didn't stop her from "loving" him. Soon after she joins a brothel so she can avoid getting in trouble with the police, which is when her boyfriend finds out she has been selling her body for money to buy him stuff. He was "happy" that she had been selling her body for his sake and agreed to her joining a brothel. We get to see many different desires of perverts, the extent that they can go, and how is life like working at a brothel. We see stuff like men wanting to be treated like dogs, chickens, or even want to re-act events that they had to go through during their childhood. While the protagonist, Colette, is working at the brothel, which she is now unable to escape from, her and her partner had split-up but he would still come to her for money and to abuse her. (He was in debt with some people). Colette soon starts getting passionate about writing, and she tries to write a romance story which she finds hard to finish. Now she has to focus on getting over her ex, find a way to escape the brothel she stuck in, and make a life out of writing.
CHARACTERS
I think the characters can be either a hit or miss. Personally I loved the way they were wrote.
Colette - the MC. She is a prostitute. She isn't really fazed by anything, but soon comes to realize that she doesn't want to keep on living the way she does.
Leon - Colette's ex-boyfriend. He was abuse towards her and would repeatedly cheat on her. He always asks for money and is in debt.
Ivy - Another prostitute that works at the same brothel as Colette. She always takes Colette side, and has a liking for her.
Edgar - He was a writer that asked Colette to write about her daily life has a prostitute, which is what started Colette's passion for writing.
ENDING
The ending is fitting in my opinion.
Spoilers: Spoiler, click to viewTowards the ending, Colette starts seeing Ivy, their relationship starts to prosper. She feels motivated on writing her romance story but still is unable to write its ending. Eventually Ivy and Colette relationship falls apart upon finding out that Leon was killed. She becomes depressed and starts questioning if freedom is even worth it. While trying to wrap up her story, she finds out that the reason that she couldn't find an interesting way to finish her story was because she was trying to write an happy ending. She ends up finishing the story which ends up being liked by many. Eventually, she manages to get out of the brothel and becomes a writer.
