After part 2's horrible animation this was actually pretty easy on the eyes, the CGI might be the best it's ever been in the series.
There were certain points where the story was kind of out there and didn't make a lot of sense but nothing that would break the story as a whole.
- It was too cheesy for a story this serious in tone up to this point.
- The scene with Hange in the afterlife should have been deleted because it goes against how everyone's life is the same and even important characters like Erwin aren't the camera's favorite and die in the same manner everyone else does with no emphasis, but on the other hand I really really like this scene XD even though the implications of an after life existing in this universe is way too big to be introduced this late in the story and makes the Survey Corps members' sacrifice less meaningful.
- The way the characters speak to/about Eren is also very weird and out of character, all of these characters have lost so many comrades up to this point, it is literally their entire job, they've even killed some of them themselves, why are they so concerned about saving Eren's life? He's literally going to end the world, if killing him by using Armin's colossal titan takes 5 minutes less than talking some sense into him and if in those 5 minutes a single innocent life can be saved then killing Eren shouldn't be their last resort, it should be their first!
- The characters are too chummy, I can understand Armin and Annie talking comfortably because Annie is grateful to Armin for talking to her for so many years and Armin is partially in love with Annie because of Bertholdt's memories, but I can't understand Mikasa and Annie having a little girl talk, there's just too much bad blood, the same goes for Jean and Reiner.
- The "this is freedom" scene should also have been deleted because I can't imagine the same Eren who apologized to Ramzi would look at all the slaughter in his wake and say "this is freedom".
Other than that it's pretty amazing, the Rumbling scene is the darkest AOT has ever been. The reveal about the female titan is great, it's amazing that we're still learning about titans and finding out why the Attack Titan's body melted when Annie was crystalizing, I always assumed the female titan's ability is crystallization and the Attack Titan melted because... she was using too much energy and it got hot? I never really gave it much thought.
The explanation of why Eren isn't stopping them from stopping him also made a lot of sense and had to be addressed.
I liked that Floch was defeated one last time before finally shutting the fuck up for good, my least favorite character gets the most satisfying death, he's the only character that I can say is inherently evil.
All in all, pretty good, could have been better but definitely could have been worse too, my score definitely seems too high considering how many problems I had with this but I just don't want to repeat what people have already said in praising this part and wanted to bring some new perspective to the table.
