this is my second time writing a review bc I accidently erased one when i was done.
This show genuinely traumatized me, like here I am years later making an over 2200 characters sum up about it FOR THE SECOND TIME just because I need to express my thoughts overall.
It started off with the friend group adapting to the new life on the surface, and the development between Hikari and Manaka. That's all I needed honestly, the heart-warming evolution in their life and how they reach the point of getting together. BUT NO. THIS SHOW DECIDED TO BE A BITCH.
First off, they brought in the second ml(Tsumugu).And I was honestly fine with it because he was calm and collected and quite helpful too. ~~And jealousy looked good on hikari ngl?~~ but then everyone just started developing feelings for the other, or maybe it was already there but they all started showing it. And that would have been fine if it wasn't for the fact that THEY STARTED THAT ONCE HIKARI AND MANAKA STARTED MOVING. Like these two have liked each other for so long and now that hikari is finally making small steps, the entire world decided to fuck them up. The main one being chisaki.
She just had to go and ruin all of Hikari and manaka's progress, because of her jealousy?? I never understood that. She obviously knew hikari liked manaka for a long time, was she expecting him to never make a move?Or just suddenly start liking her instead?
And with her small steps of jealousy not only did she ruin the slow development of manaka and hikari, she also destroyed kaname's feelings. She has no consideration whatsoever unless its to her own feelings. I was very pissed!

hikari's niece(Miuna) was in love with him

, like babes....get a grip that's your uncle. And tho he wasn't interested in her, he sure was too nice to her.

(I had a struggle adding this photo, even the website doesn't want her) I was honestly planning to just drop the show at this point. However I really wanted to see hikari and manaka get their happy ending. If they were to go back to even the beginning, as cute friends who secretly like each other, I would have been okay with that too! But NO here comes the sacrifice issue. I was happy when miuna sacrificed herself because that means we can get rid of her, however hikari saved her and it just ended up with her getting the attention (miuna hater here) So when manaka got the attention after i was pleased, but i was afraid they'd just give up on her and hikari would end up dating miuna which just did not sit right with me. I ended up finishing the anime because I wanted to reach my vision. However THE ENDING WAS SO DISAPPOINTING. Chisaki ends up with tsumugu and i was happy with that, it means she's not in the way of the relationship and they look good together. She was a bit of a burden on him at first but it all worked out and I was happy for them. but tell me why the side couple got more screen-time than THE MAIN?!?!

But they didn't kiss or nothing! They just both sat there at the end looking at the sea. like NO! Don't start acting mature now! I was so disappointed, I was shocked by how dirty they did me. My favorite scene was the one where manaka finds the slug, it was very nice it felt like she finally found some luck. I think it was foreshadowing at the time (i don't really remember) But I was very happy for her. As for my favorite character its Lord Uroko, he's deep but acts like he's not. He is powerful and reminder he's just an arm plus he's hot so. def enjoyed having him on the show But the reason I put a score of 70 is because of all the emotions i felt through-out the show. when i get disappointed,pissed,pleased. These feelings made me realise that its actually a good show. Especially if it left an impact on me that here I am years later writing about it. The slow development, the sudden changes, the surprises Theyre all real life shit that happens all displayed in a 26 episode anime. that impact is worth sharing, so I hope you check a lull in the sea out Thankyou P.S(1): Im positive my opinion is unpopular considering miuna and chisaki, but personally I think people who understand them just relate to them.
