The cool thing about Dr.Stone is that it conveys useful and oftentimes quite complicated information in a way that doesn't feel overwhelming for the reader. The educational aspect is balanced out by the comedic side of this manga, which is also fantastic and entertaining, with numerous pop-culture references, and educated jokes based on how modern society would interact with a society that sees our present time as ancient history.
Recurring jokes such as Chrome inventing things which he believes to be completely new, ending up being something that those of the 21st century are quite familiar with, help the audience feel more immersed, by making these oftentimes mundane things to appear as if they were inside jokes. The manga doesn't make the reader feel stupid, and regardless of the fact that Senku is a genius, his explanations do not feel condescending at any point in the manga, making it easy for readers to consume information. It's clear that a lot of research went into the creation of this manga in the aspects of chemistry, biology, physics, and sociology, which is very impressive considering that the manga's primary aim is most likely not to be educational, but rather to entertain.
The art is beyond amazing, in regards to both character design and scenery. The characters are unique, and due to the plot point of those who lived in the 21st century having markings on their body, it is easy to differentiate them from those who descended from survivors on earth. Each and every character has their own individual style in both clothing and haircuts, which are symbolic of the characters, such as Senku's hair or gown, Gen's haircut and hair color, or Suika's mask. The art of the scenery is also seemingly well researched, as familiar landscapes are represented in a way that would most likely be true had humanity turned to stone for 2000 years.
It is especially impressive that the loss of temperature was mentioned as something that might affect the environment, and moments such as these were points which one would usually not think of getting brought up, does the greatness of this manga truly show. This story is one that will inspire curiosity, create a gateway for readers to explore topics they might not have been exposed to previously, and spark some interesting conversations about science in general.
Even for those who are not too interested in the science aspect, the comedy and the storyline is one worth reading, as it is a heartfelt and oftentimes comforting device to escape our reality for a second and imagine what role we would take up, if we would become a part of Senku's kingdom of science.
