This anime has left an imprint on me that will now forever be with me....and that is to never have a child
Because the mc irritated me so much.
-Expectations:
I expected this movie to be about 2 teens and 2 adults, where they learn to fall in love and help each other grow as friends and as lovers.
Aiaoi(mc) would like shinno (red hair) and akane (sister) would like shinnosuke(brown hair)
not knowing that shinno and shinnosuke WERE ONE PERSON.And before you come at me, I didn't know their names beforehand to interpret that.
-Reality:
The show did not focus on 4 people, BUT ON 3. BECAUSE 2 OF THEM WERE ONE PERSON
I was honestly shocked. And at first I was fine with it, like okay the show doesn't focus on Ao it focuses on her sister's love life, and how she burdened her sister as a child and thus wants to fix her mistakes by leaving to Tokyo, and letting her sister have the life she was never able to have.
And I was rolling with it. In fact, I liked her sister a lot.
She was a very good sister, took a lot of sacrifices for her sister's happiness, which is absolutely beautiful.
So then, why did they ruin everything by
-Opinion:
She was being SELFISH. She wanted everything, her sister has given her all, gave up on her life so that she can have the best life, and she returns it by being a moody teenager the entire time? Like that was already a flaw, and then after taking the decision of removing her sister's burdens (her, she's the burden) she decides she won't bc of her own feelings.
Can you be anymore selfish? Can you? Her sister was so selfless, so helpful, she gave her life and love. Don't you think akane liked shinno too? But she gave him up for you.
AND YOU RETURN THE FAVOR BY LIKING A PART OF HIM??! It was ludicrous.
I've never hated an mc as much as I hated her. Spoiled (to the rotten core),selfish, stubborn, moody, she starts fits when she's mad. She gets mad at her sister when she's at fault ??
I was so pissed. I was planning to just exit the movie at that point.
But I really wanted to see Akane get with shinno so I bared it.
Well too bad bc the mc was the main issue. I feel like if she hadn't existed and the movie was between akane shinno, and shinnosuke. I would have liked it way more! Like up to 60.
Honestly, the ending saved this movie. And the only reason it even gets a 25 is because of the ending.
I'm happy that shinno ends up returning to his current self after his current self decides to put in the effort to fight for Akane.
It was very refreshing, and im thankful. Even tho I feel like it could have been better, I will not complain after suffering the entire movie.-Sum-up:
The mc was the worst, she was unbearable. She really needed a reality check about how life actually works. Has she never thought that her sister is also in pain? She had to raise her alone and sacrifice her life to give her a good one. And all she did in return was back talk her and reject her idea of college.
She should have just left for tokyo earlier and then none of that would have happened. Akane would have dealt with the issue herself, destiny would have followed her around until she met Shinno and everything would have worked out simpler and in a more peaceful way.
Ao never appreciated her sister, and she never gave back she only took. She just assumed her sister was perfect. Like babes at your grown age?? Your in high school, you can conclude the idea of a lingering spirit, but not your own sister's suffering?
-Favorite character:
Actually, even tho I just slandered the entire movie. My favorite character is shinno.
not shinnosuke. But shinno.
He was the most stable character of all (which is ironic since he's the only non-human)
Even tho he is a lingering spirit stuck in a guest house, who woke up 13 years later. He GRASPED THE SITUATION BETTER THAN ANY OTHER CHARACTER. ACTUALLY HE WAS SANE, WHICH IS VERY RARE IN BETWEEN CHARACTERS.
He was a good kid, he knew what his goal was, where his heart was set. He never said anything wrong.
He respectfully rejected Aoiao(as he should) He never gave up on Akane(as he should) and he gave his future/present self a reality check (as he should)
He was a gentleman, a really nice and optimistic kid who works hard for what he wants. And works hard for the result he wants. (I understand why ao liked him)
My favorite part of him was that he thought Akane was really cute even as a 31 year old woman.
-Favorite scene:
in one scene where current shinnosuke meets shinno, they talk it out.(more like fight) Shinno tells current shinnosuke that he wants to believe that he will come out better than what he is seeing right now. A better man, an shinnosuke tells him that this is reality and he should be grateful with the fact that he became a musician like he had wanted. However shinno gives him a reality check and reminds him that such dream was useless without Akane by their side.
This scene was absolutely stunning, it was very much needed, very refreshing and satisfying. Shinnosuke needed to hear this. However, WHY WAS AOI THERE?! HER BEING THERE WAS SO ANNOYING. SHE'S JUST THERE IN THE BG LIKE 'shinno....?' likes babes stfu this isn't about you.
Like they just had to include the mc in every scene yk?
-Favorite meaning:
The movie had many hidden meanings and key words.
Like rice balls with tuna and mayo/ They were very fun. From the parallels to the reminders and so on.
I enjoy these type of hinting to past memories. It makes u remorse with the characters.
But my favorite was 'Shinnosuke's big dream'
We all assumed that shinnosuke's big dream is becoming a musician and playing in tokyo. This was obvious since Akane stated that he did it (achieved his dream) and he replied saying yes. And shinno quite literally told us that, that is his dream.
However that was only part of the dream. The dream was to become a big musician so that one day he can come back and take Akane with him.
Which obviously didn't go as planned, because as shinnosuke grew he became less hopeful and struggled alot, that once he reached half way, he decided it was enough to make a living and then settled.
That lecture with shinno reminded him of his real dream.
Of coming back for Akane. That he is yet to complete his goal properly.
It gave him hope and it was really adorable
Especially since Akane didn't know that that was part of the dream too.
