this is the ULTIMATE culmination to the Kaguya-sama series (or at least, the first 3 seasons), as it's a great balance between comedy, romance, and making a coherent story, while also making ALL of the characters (yes, even including the side ones) enjoyable.
MILD SPOILER WARNING:
The animation is greatly improved when compared to the first 2, even with some use of CGI: ![]()
EVERYTHING in this season is both creative, and excellently-crafted, there are at least something to be enjoyed in every scene, and it never drags on in ANY way, it is indubitably one of the best animated shows I've ever seen, and it enhances the last 3 episode's quality by A LARGE margin.
the Ramen Emperors also return and they look very realistic, and it's for the better too
The characters are ALSO improved this season: ![]()
This season has a ball-crushingly realistic interpretation of love, and it's especially shown by the characters
For Kaguya and Miyuki, they still have their love shenanigans going on, only this time, it's escalated into further limits. As one can see, both Kaguya and Miyuki are, as in medical terms, QUITE LITERALLY lovesick, and it is excellently shown here, the final episode is both so nerve-racking and massively developing the chemistry between them
The character that really surprised me the most is Yuu Ishigami, he was established and had character development in the final episode of season 2, and I don't personally like him all that much before that point, but NOW? MAN, Yuu has a great turnaround for his character, as he now has someone that admires him, and even loves him, Tsubame. Right around the second half, Yuu invites Tsubame, which, as a result, is a turning point, HE even at one point confesses TO Tsubame, and that meant a lot to him, NOW he's more confident than ever.
Iino Miko is just funny, i guess, however, she's MUCH more hostile to Yuu than in season 2, and that could get a bit annoying sometimes, BUT Yuu did make her a little bit embarrassed so that's a plus.
Chika, is still Chika, she still helps Miyuki on things he can't do (much less in this season though), she's still funny, unpredictable, and her personality is still kept intact, the one episode that really shows her character though is in episode 5, it plays similar to the singing, but it's rapping instead, and they even pair up to make their own rap verses.
Hayasaka is also good, still supporting Kaguya as always, and she even smiles a lot more in this season, making her personality less boring.
The Narrator? it's still just okay, BUT THE ENGLISH DUB though, the Narrator is much more present, and much more in-your-face and fourth-wall-breaky, and that definitely enhances a lot of the comedy
Speaking of the English Dub, that's an aspect worth noting, since all of the characters portrayed and voice acted here did VERY well, and overall, enhances the comedy.
For the story?
+
It's still pretty basic, but there are some depth here, especially with the school festivals and the places the main cast goes to.
Overall, I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend watching this season, if you like season 2, you will most likely tune in to this one, and you will certainly like it, it's a great conclusion to everything (if you don't count the First Kiss that Never Ends "Movie").
