At first glance, the anime gave a peculiar vibe but the more you watched the more the narrative started to make sense and developed into something so dazzling and sweet.
I really enjoyed the concept of magic tied within the heartfelt story, I typically don't enjoy time-travel narratives as they tend to have the same elements built within them, but I genuinely felt like it was done very splendidly and in a unique manner.
Something else that really impressed me was the fact that although there is magic in this universe, it isn't a big focus throughout the entire anime, I mean the story does revolve around the time-travel spell and that is true but as a watcher you don't notice it until the very end which adds a big dramatic effect, without spoiling it.
THE CHARACTERS IN THIS ANIME ARE REALLY COOL, but I might be biased, while it's been a little while since I watched the anime I can safely say that all the characters are rather likable, ALSO DON'T TELL ANYONE BUT I HAD A BIG CRUSH ON AOI LIKE HE'S JUST SO PERFECT, anyway yeah characters great uhm moving on.
The romance that came with the story felt great, the beautiful love sparks that happened throughout the seasons were genuinely very well put and I really do enjoy the ending BUT BUT I just wish I saw more of it, but I understand that the ending makes sense for the way it happened but I'm just the biggest hopeless romantic there is so I kinda felt all the emotions when I found out why certain things happened, SO BEAUTIFUL THOUGH
Though I have painted a perfect picture of the anime so far, it is true that it has some flaws in my opinion.
I don't think the anime had enough time to really grow. While I do think the story felt organic, I still feel like it could've been expanded a bit for the narrative to be more smooth.
Another thing that I dislike is the way witches just happen to exist in this universe, it feels so out of place. I know it's niche and also rare to be a witch but it's still really strange to me how it doesn't affect other aspects of the world, obviously this is not a big issue but it's something I definitely noticed in my initial watch that did stay with me until this day.
As a whole though, the anime does deliver on what it's supposed to. It targets the love aspect well but it also adds in the element of separation due to unwanted circumstances and I really enjoy how the story ties the present and the past so beautifully I am pretty sure it's the first time that an anime made me cry, like really really cry and I honestly couldn't be more grateful for that.
I'd genuinely recommend this anime if you enjoy romance animes, as it really captures the emotions in such a unique way that you cannot find anywhere else. I would also give it a try if I wasn't a big romance person, I think the story still has a lot to offer even if it's not your kind of thing.
Either way bookmark this anime and watch it with your significant other I think it'd be the cutest :) ♡
ps. definitely one of my favourite animes of all time!! ♡
