A great show with a lot of character growth, simon grows a lot trough the series and the grow he does is grow that seems very human tho i would say it's very cringy like but that's part of what makes it so great, it has problems with the side characters that even tho it doesn't let you forget them they dont do a lot and they dont seem to change a lot trough the series even tho there was a 7 year time skip.

the battles are great like i cant even get started on how good the are and the fact that they go screaming the name of the moves they do is weird but as well, is a part of what makes them so great, the songs are very good too i liked the fact that they used Libera Me from hell at the last fight it was very cool when that happened and the power scaling even tho it went from small mountain level to closing in on almost boundless it helps to finish confirming to the viewer that trowing common sense will make the impossible possible.

The show also has great animation (except for the chapter that kittan appears) that even to this day is very good and i would say surpasses most of the shows animation that are coming obviously not all but a lot of them you can especially see it in chapter one in which every scene is very well done and the moment they get out of the village was incredibly done and not only that it means a lot for the characters and the story i feel like if simon didn't do that there would be no way of getting him out of that personality he had fully or atleast he wouldn't have been able to come all the way to the end of the series and always stay on the winning side and that he would fear more things, he maybe could have been affected by the anti spiral just because of that moment not happening.

The story Is greatly done, it's not perfect but it doesn't have to be perfect the only thing i would say something about is the length of the series, i feel like it could have been longer and that the pre time skip could have had his own season of 24 or 25 chapters while the post time skip could get a 12 chapters season because i feel like they wanted to expand more on the side characters but bc of the chapter restraints they coulnd't do that.

The secondary characters are a flaw that gurren lagann has, and that is that the side characters even tho they get screen time they dont do anything of great importance to the plot most of them are there mostly for comedic purpose and when things get serious is more of they are there to help simon instead of fight with simon but i can get why, simon was way more powerful than all of them tho i feel like they could have done more things and not only fight against the small gammens.
