Anime Movies
As far as anime movies go, there haven't been many good ones that captures your heart with it's inspiring, better yet, endearing characters and it's unique and beautiful story that ends the movie with a bitter sweet ending.
My Opinion

This movie is absolutely stunning! Astounding visuals and great sounds to support it. The story moved me and for someone who's sensitive like me, the story made me cry a couple times and the ending leaves me satisfied. However, satisfied is not a very strong word, you might think. Well you'd be right. It is satisfying, however, I think it might be the weakest part of the story. The ending felt like it was written by an writer that had never written a happy ending before. Nevertheless, it was still a bitter sweet ending and it was pretty good. But it just didn't feel like it fitted in with how well the story is written.
Characters
The movie focuses on two characters/protagonist. Mitsuha Miyamizu and Taki Tachibana.

Mitsuha

Mitsuha is the female protagonist of the story. She's a sweet girl that lives in a countryside in Japan. Her character is cheerful and nice, yet gets somewhat irritated at Taki at what he does. She's also a brave person if she is supported.
Taki

Taki is the male protagonist of the story. He's a nice guy who is sociable and is surrounded with nice friends. He's a relatable character with a relatable background story as he is just a normal student living his life in Japan. (Except for obviously the part where he switches bodies)
To non-anime fans
Even to non-anime fans, this movie can be very appealing. I watched this movie with my class and my girl friends cried alot and couldn't stop talking about it afterwards. It's truly rare to find an anime movie to appeal to many people. Definitely recommended to watch it, even if you're a non-anime fan.
Conclusion

One of the best anime movies as far as 2016 goes. It has inspiring characters and a beautiful story and visuals to go with it. However, the ending felt lacking, but it is still good enough to make you say 'what a beautiful story.'
