Art: 10/10.
Just look at it. The art quality actually improves over time, the anatomy's always on point, the character designs are simple without being generic, and the colors in splash images are vibrant and eye-catching. The costume design/outfits are very well-designed; I can tell the creator loves fashion. And, the main character -- Mizuki -- is super duper cute, their expressions are a treat to see. (Which is a shame for reasons I'll get into later.)
Anyway, I've no complaints here. The artist obviously knows how to draw and craft appealing designs.
Characters: 3/10.
I'm giving it a 3 because the male love interest made me AWOOOOGA BARK BARK BARK even though he was so dull in every other aspect that I can't even remember his name (Tatsuya? I'm somewhat certain it began with a 'T'). Most characters in this manga are too boring for me to recall. The few that aren't outright gags have generic, trivial motivations that fall apart under perhaps ten seconds of actual scrutinity (another point that I'll talk about later on, further down).
Oh and the main antagonist is your basic bratty, teasing loli. Whatever.
Plot: 0/10.
The "plot" is garbage. Total, utter, undeniable garbage. Think of "plot" in very tenuous terms for this series...anyway it can basically be split into three situations that hold true across every single chapter:
And that's it. No nuance, no deeper inspection on being GNC or gay, just a lot of stereotypes and ecchi. I presume this sort of content is a goldmine for hardcore genderbender fans? I found it pretty dull and tired personally (and, to be bitterly honest: offensive -- borderline homophobic at times.) It's truly wild that 100% of the "conflict" in this manga evaporates when you realize men can be feminine and homosexual without that making them women.
If you doubt me, look at these pages (link #1 & link #2). That's it. Pick this manga up if you only want to see girls = pink boys = blue tier analysis and sex jokes. Don't go into it expecting depth.
Enjoyment: 2/10.
The art is a treat. Everything else is just awful. I could forgive the ignorance regarding gender expression if this weren't written in 2013 (and actual GNC characters weren't around to serve as pure butt monkeys).
Why did I read this. Don't read this if you aren't a genderbend fetishist. If you want interesting gender analysis go read uhh...go watch Utena.
