Hello, readers, and welcome back to another review. I’m Mehcky, and welcome and enjoy if you’re new here. Today, readers, I shall be reviewing Giji Harem, which may somehow be the most fluff manga I’ve read so far.
---
Now, we must know about Giji Harem, is that it’s quite literally, the opposite of a harem. Like, there’s no love triangle. At all. Giji Harem, also known as Pseudo-harem, is merely a story of a girl who can act. And when you can act, you can act out multiple personalities, which coins the name, “Pseudo-harem.”
Amazing. But Giji Harem… really sounds like an incel loser title… except it isn’t! This is a manga of a duo who strives to be better people, while giving each other a lot of love and flirting. If you’re into… teasy sexual tension themes, like Nagatoro, might as well, look elsewhere. Giji Harem lacks fanservice and focuses on building a relationship between two youthful teenagers.

Character/writing
Our protagonists, Rin Nanakura and Senpai (his name is barely mentioned), are entertaining to read. Nanakura’s talents of acting and Senpai’s unusually loyal self are amazing dynamics to read about. One of the things I love about Giji Harem is its way it writes teenagers falling in love. Nanakura and Senpai feel more like best friends initially, which I don’t see much in animanga in general. It’s usually some fated meeting with some random individual. Giji Harem is realistic, in that sense. They were just two high schoolers who were in the same club who just hung out together, and BAM, they fell in love.
One thing I do wish is that they explored the side characters a bit more. Despite being a romance manga, I believe side characters should also be fleshed out as they can compliment the main couple as well as to keep the story from getting too repetitive. But despite that, I’d say Giji Harem handles its protagonists greatly.

Artstyle
The art is a 10/10 for me. It fits the story it was trying to tell, and I find the style unique. It really stands out to me. I wish the Senpai’s design was a bit better, but I think selling him like that does compliment his averageness. Unique style, decent design and amazing facial expressions.

Enjoyment
Overall, I enjoyed Pseudo Harem… a lot. I love how Senpai isn’t a loser who somehow gets girls. He’s an example of your average highschooler with decent social skills, and it makes his efforts worth it. Love how the confession played out strangely. Though, it lost my interest halfway, and I think some of the drama felt a bit forced, which did take away some of my enjoyment points. But overall, I think Giji Harem is an amazing manga. It really had me hooked. One of the best first 50 chapters I’ve ever read. Satisfactory ending, too.

TL;DR
Pseudo Harem handles its main characters amazingly. The romance feels natural and less like fate. Loved it. Very strong first 50 chapters. Though, if you don’t like the first chapter, it’s not for you. Giji Harem is worth checking out.
