This is my first review so sorry if it's a little shabby or poorly written
When I started watching the Seven Deadly Sins originally, while it wasn't certainly the best anime, the first two seasons (not gonna include Signs of The Holy War since it's just 4 episodes and not worth talking about apart from the fact it served as an interlude for The Revival of The Ten Commandments season) were very good. Decent animation, somewhat charming characters, a really nice story, some banging intros (specially the intro to the Ten Commandments season). It really looked like this anime was going to be great because, as we all knew, the story was yet to be over.
But then from Season 3 onwards (which is Imperial Wrath of the Gods), man, the show really took a fall and I wish they would have kept the same kind of animation and storytelling they had in the previous seasons, because Season 3, Season 4 and specially THIS season, were terrible and it really seemed like everything took a nosedive. From the animation and storytelling, to the characters, the intros (except the intro to the last season, that one is absolutely amazing and it's a shame it was used on such a lame season like this one).
First, let's begin with a GLARING issue that slowly makes watching this almost hard to watch
The animation. Holy, the animation from the seven deadly sins went from good, to okay, to straight up bad from S3 and so on.
One popular example which I think should tell you enough is the infamous Escanor vs Meliodas fight. This was hyped up sort of, as this was one of the biggest fights that every fan anticipated, and what did we get??

A lame ass fight that was basically Escanor and Meliodas slashing their swords for 2 minutes with some "badass" dialogue. Seriously, it was just that, and poorly animated too.
Second, let's talk about the toootally good character writing and the fact that there are so many characters introduced in this, more than I can count with my fingers.
Seriously... What was this?
You have like 20 more characters who are introduced, given these lame ass backstories and once they die, you are supposed to care for them.. for some reason? But why? You aren't given enough of a reason to truly care, they are just introduced, engage a little with the gang, and then die. And when they do die, it's not sad or anything, it's just "Oh, they died. Well, moving on".
But man, this isn't even the WORST part about this. The worst part HAS to be the storytelling.
It is absolutely AWFUL and the fact that we got this season as the ending to what started off as a great show is disgusting.
You have these dumb ass plot twists that basically offer nothing and is just a way to go into the next enemy/problem. Oh no! The demon king uses Zeldris's body and gets a new for- Oh wait, they beat him. But oh no!! He fused with the entirety of Britannia and now hes suuper duper- Nevermind, beated again.. But oh wait! Now there's a new named Chaos which is basically the god of this universe who made all races, the demons, giants, humans, angels, everything and even made the supreme deity and demon king. And turns out, Arthur (the same kid who was pronounced dead for almost the entire season and was forgotten off later) was actually NOT dead and is revived and immediately claimed to be the king of Chaos. Now, how and why did the Seven Deadly Sins find out about this?
Well, poor little Merlin was devastated that her precious Meliodas wouldn't LOVE HER! So she found out about this creature 3000 something years ago and worked very hard to revive it. So basically, ever since Merlin met Meliodas, to when they formed the Seven Deadly Sins, to now, she did all this just to revive some dumbass entity? Alll because she couldn't make someone love her? How petty. And now they have to beat the silly little cat that, turns out, actually has a fragment of Chaos's power and was waiting for Arthur's powers to be awoken. And then they beat the cat. And the story ends. Each of the Sins go on their own way, Ban impregnates a Loli (which, by the way, was weird as fuck to show this on screen), King and Diane have a child that isn't even show, and Meliodas and Elizabeth have a child that looks ugly as hell.
So yeah, that's the terrible ending to this show.
I WILL say.. there WERE some aspects to this season that I liked but these are so miniscule that they don't even really matter.
Overall, this was a disappointment of an ending season. Maybe I'll watch the sequel, maybe I won't, but I hope that it is better than this and at least explains to us some things.
Feeling a strong 5 to a light 6 on this one.
