My Thoughts on Breserk so fat
SpoilerforGoldenAgeArc
Berserk
Well, Well, Well. I knew that berserk existed and heard that the art and the darkness of this series was great and amazing that this is the best of the best. I also tried to read Berserk. I got started and then because the story from the beginning was so dark. I didn't enjoy reading it, it felt uneasy, So I never got to reading further. I had however heard that Griffith was the best villain and Guts the best protagonist, and the manga the best one.
After a few years of putting off reading Berserk, I finally did read Berserk. And truly without a sense of doubt it is the best piece of art and story I have ever experienced.
The first arc of this story, ‘The Black Swordsman Arc’, did make me feel the same way before. It was dark and felt uneasy to read for sure but I read it anyway. And in retrospect from the very beginning of the story Guts was a wonderfully written character, he felt more alive than most other characters in fiction. The pain expressed by Guts truly felt real.
Then there was the ‘The Golden Age Arc’
The story of Guts' birth and the abuse he faced is shown in the beginning which feels terrible. His fate truly is the worst of all. I wanted to quit this again but I wanted to see this poor-cursed boy grow into a warrior. So I kept on reading until He encountered The Band of the Hawk. I saw Griffith, the great villain that people talked about. I knew a bitrail was coming. I just wondered what kind of character he would be, what story would unfold leading to the Eclipse. With the focus now on the bond of Guts with the Band of The Hawk and the story of their progression I was invested. I could not stop. I read chapters after chapters. I saw the growth of the Band. Though the story and the world in Berserk is as Dark as it could get, the interaction of characters is so cheerful and lively that it gets me invested. And of course the art done by Kentaro Miura is astounding. Every pixel is filled with detail, as I read this amazing piece of art I take moments to stop to gaze at these wonderful panels drawn by kentaro Miura and see the amount of hard work that he has put into this work.
The story of Guts is an intriguing one; it lacks the purpose that many other MC have and he simply keeps on going. The profound thoughts are to think about, and this dark story is definitely to be enjoyed and thought about for your entire life. The struggles of Guts and the implication of this story really brought me to tears as I thought about the horrors faced by Guts and the adventure done by him thinking of meaning and purpose and all nihilism and despair filled my heart I cannot help but call this the best Story I have ever read.
