Plot and Storyline
I was expecting a lot from the story of Tower Of God since I heard a lot of praise for it and it over delivered. Each arc kept me on my toes waiting for something exciting to happen and it’s really satisfying when it does. All of the arcs connect very well so you have a general idea of where the story is going to go, Tower Of God also hypes up some moments so the reader wants to keep reading at a fast pace to reach that moment like meeting Yuri Ha again or rescuing Jinsung Ha but there are also times where the author just introduces them out of nowhere like Urek Mazino and Po Bidau Gustang’s first appearance in the story.
Either way, the story gets a 9/10.
Characters
There is a wide ensemble of characters in Tower Of God and each one is unique in their own way and all of them are written well and are amazing in their own way, I love almost every character in the show (Fuck you, Rachel). Some of my favorites are Yuri Ha, Wangnan, Data Jahad, Enryu and I could go on and on…if I didn’t have a goldfish brain. Though there are times Tower Of God has disappointed me when it comes to characters like the time they kept hyping up Quaetro’s Partner (Chang) and just killed him off…or when they kept hyping up Cassano to be stronger than Bam but he just lost to Wangnan and left…but anyway,
Characters in the show gets a 7.5/10.
World Building
The world in Tower Of God is like no other, there’s a huge tower with dozens of floors; each one is unique in its own way, and all of them have their own culture and significance to the story. You could never mistake the hellscape that is the Floor of Death to the Floor of Test. The small information you get about some of the floors also creates a sense of suspense and excitement to actually see it for yourself like the hundredth floor where Arie Hon tests you or the final floor of the tower which is accessible.
The world of Tower Of God gets a 9.5/10.
Art and Paneling
The art of Tower Of God has been through a really long journey, the art keeps getting better and better to the point where I wouldn’t be able to recognize that the same person drew it if you showed me a comparison from the first few chapters and now. The paneling is generally easy to follow except during big fights with a lot of shinsu used every few seconds but that’s just my problem with the way manhwa is paneled in general. I can’t exactly rate the art of the entire show so I’ll rate each season.
Overall
Now I could keep talking about other things in the show like the power system or the themes and symbolism or the dialogue writing etc but that would take way too long so I’ll just say that it’s an incredible story that I’ll never forget.
Note: This is an old review which I wasn't planning on publishing so I'll remake it eventually
