The Helpful Fox Senko-San is all about a salaryman and his fox girl friend, who cares for him by doing stuff such as cleaning his ears or doing his dishes. But what makes this anime comfy? Let's find out..
Nakano is an average salaryman, living a dull, boring life. That is until he notices a fox girl in his apartment, despite his thoughts on the fox girl, he wants to be comforted after a long lonesome day of work. Thus begins Nakano and Senko's wholesome friendship together.
Each episode is full of cuteness that makes you go "AWW!" every minute, whenever Senko's cleaning, humming, or just helping his master out. There's also a lot of cute moments in the show that make you feel like you're being soothed by Senko herself. And if that leaves you relaxed, the "Super Senko Time" segments place you as you're comforted by the helpful fox yourself.
Senko-San has a minimal amount of characters who are in the story, but it tells their stores throughout this anime. Nakano can be relatable to anyone who went through a stressful day and just wants comfort when they get home, alongside his neighbor Yasuko. Both of the helpful foxes, Senko and Shiro, are just so fluffy and cute that you just want to live with them. And their master, Sora, is also an elegant fox who watches over them, but becomes important to the series later on.
There's also a show within the anime, focusing on Little Yoko, a magical fox girl who fights off Don Tanukiman, a tanuki who's plan to capture photo's of Yoko herself just so she could be captured and embarrassed at the same time, but at the end of the anime, we get to see the final episode of Little Yoko's journeys, as she saves the world from evilness by powering up and going cosmic, although the adventures of her and Tanukiman continue.
The visuals are wholesomely stunning, each frame of each episode looks like a beautifully drawn piece of art, and it fits with the cute tone of the anime, ranging from the flower field imagined by Nakano when Senko cleans his ears, to the mythical world of the kistunes themselves.
Not to mention, the little doodle like artstyle that is shown in ED, sure, we only see it for the ED's duration as Senko sleeps along, but it looks like a good job replicating on how a perfect crayon drawing of Senko would like.
The OP sets the tone straight with all of it's visuals, and it's lyrics about how Senko is gonna comfort you to your heart's content even if you're feeling down after a bad day. The ED is a little rap tune about what capabilities Senko does while she does her thing at home.
The soundtrack is also soothing and comfortable, almost like a lullaby that makes you instantly fell asleep due to it's heartwarming tune, fitting the anime's visuals like a glove to make it complete, surely, it would be a great listen while you're sleeping or at peace.
Watching this anime, back in 2021, and later on, the summer of 2023, brought me so much comfort and joy with each episode, and the entire anime is so heartwarming, it made me wonder how much cuter it could get within every passing episode, and it sure did.
If you want to take a break from all of your action-packed and/or intense anime, this is one of them. And it shows how comfy and wholesome the entire anime is, making you feel like Senko is right at your home, ready to care for you anyday, anytime, and she'll sure take your stressfulness right away and replace it with feelings of extreme happiness and joy.
