I'm just an ordinary extra.
Read WillShockwave's review for an in depth dive on the story. We watched the movie together. There will be massive spoilers there but this review is just for people who are interested in giving it a watch.
This movie is, to put it bluntly, really confusing when you watch it the first time. I had to do some extra research and discuss with my friend to come up with a somewhat plausible explanation.
Where do I even begin? If I had to describe this movie in one word, it would be Rollercoaster. I went into this movie not expecting too much, and I came out...not knowing what to feel. Which is not really a bad thing but not necessarily a good thing either. I never really knew what to expect with this movie, that's for sure.
To me, the movie felt like it couldn't decide on what genre it wanted to be. At first, it felt like a cute romance film with some slight sci-fi elements mixed into it. However, as you keep watching, it just gets more...sci-fiey? Like, at some point, it didn't really feel like a romance film anymore. Which is fine, but I feel like the switch-up was too sudden. I think it would've benefitted if the movie was longer. I can't really talk much about it since I don't want to spoil it, but just prepare yourself.
Overall, it's really hard to describe my feelings for this movie. I don't think it can be described as good, bad, or mediocre. I actually think this movie goes beyond that, which doesn't really make sense, but if you've watched it, you'll (hopefully) get what I mean. I think the movie has its struggles, but still has its good moments. I think the movie appeals to both romance and sci-fi enthusiasts. Personally, I went into the movie expecting more of the romance side. I could still appreciate the movie though. The plot is interesting and goes really deep, which I can't really get into here.As for the rating, I can't really decide on it, so if I really had to give it one, it would be 80. But I do think it could be adjusted.
