Oh my god, this anime is so cute. I couldn’t help but binge the entire season in one sitting! I love slice of life anime because they have so much opportunity to get into the characters’ lives and their relationships since they don’t have any other plot going on.
Speaking of Sawako and the characters in general, I loved them! I think that Sawako is really cute and lovely. I think she may be a bit too perfect when it comes to how nice she is, but I was able to overlook it. It was most egregious with her relationship with Kurumi—like girl what are you talking about? All of the characters have distinct personalities and roles they fulfill in the group which is great! She’s not in my list of favorite characters because I don’t like her, but I love how Kurumi was written. She’s a good balance to the happy-go-lucky goodness of the rest of the class. I also love how bashful Kazehaya is like oh my gosh he is hopeless. Chizuru and Ryu were also favorites of mine. Chizuru was positively adorable with how emotional and silly she was. I loved that Ryu was mostly just "guy that was there," but there were some moments that made it clear he has substance too!
Unfortunately, the reason why this isn't rated as perfect is because of one character in particular :/ Pin is just like. No. No bro. I hate him. He’s annoying, he’s weird—I don’t like him. Any time he appears on screen I cringe and just wait for him to go away. He is also just kind of creepy?
There wasn’t anything particularly stunning about the visual style or the voice acting. In fact, I found Kurumi’s voice in particular very grating. However, considering the genre, those things aren’t really important to me. The art style was standard but pretty cute, and the voices were fine. I think Kazehaya and Sawako were probably my favorite voices which is great considering their importance to the plot.
All-in-all, I really enjoyed this! I’m not sure if it was a favorite, but it definitely has found its place in my heart, and I would recommend it at the very least!
