I've liked to watch anime since I was super young, however I haven't called myself a true anime fan for years now. Recently things have changed, I decided I wanted to give it a go again as I've been having a blast revisiting shows like Serial Experiments Lain, Black Lagoon, Baccano! and even more recent shows like Frieren surprised me. I thought, well time to get back into the anime community, "Lets see what's recommended now". I saw this show on the sidebar banner for the r/anime and thought "if r/anime is recommending this show for rewatch for this month, it must be a hidden gem or something". NGL this show reminded me of what I used to find constantly cringe in anime so many years ago.
##There's so much to dislike about this show
Why? Fan service up the ass, with some outrageous camera angles trying to constantly push in sexual jokes, and a sappy rom-com that quite literally goes through all the boxes of cliche situations.
The show felt so derivative, I feel like after episode 1 you already know how it's gonna end.
"It's biggest sin is that nothing comes off as a surprise."
I mean I understand there's different genres for different people but uhhh, yeah this show was cringe to sit through.
"I had to blitz throught it if I wanted to really stick around till the end."
I ended up seeing everything in 1.5x to 2x speed, both the reviews on MAL and posts in r/anime said that the show gets better after episode 5, but I beg to differ. You can't really change the underlying issues that is it's derivative story with an obvious outcome. I actually saw the whole thing cause "there's no way that the showcase show of the month can be this bad".
##Conclusion
All in all, I wouldn't recommend this show. It's a generic overdone predicable show at best, and what I would call seasonal slop at it's worst. Again, don't want to come off as rude, and everyone is entitled to like what they like, but there was little to no value here for me and it would be a disingenuous for me to say this show is any good.
