It has a great world building and character development, it really makes you dive into the story and in the end you can really feel the characters like if they were close to you, and I think that's awesome.
About the story, I would say it is complex, because it does talk about a lot of complex things, but in the end, thanks to how well it is made, you understand everything perfectly. Science it's the main focus of this anime, and it sure will make you want to learn more and more about it the more the story unfolds.
Also, talking about how the story unfolds, I don't know how they made it so perfect, but everything connects flawlessly, it's nearly impossible to catch a plot hole, at least for me.
The story of the characters is so well done too, it really makes a close connection between you and the character on the other side of the screen. Whenever they are happy or sad, or giving it all, the voice actors made an excelent job. It really puts you on the character's shoes, specially on the shoes of the main protagonist, Hououin Kyouma!
You'll experience almost everything from his perspective, along with the path he chooses and the friends he makes, making it very personal.
Every character is unique on his own way, they really shine individually for who they are, and that's also something wonderful that I adore about it.
The chemistry between characters is also very unique, because it's not something you would usually see in other series or anime, the interactions between them are very mixed: funny, happy, reflexive, sad and many other ways I won't tell, so you can eventually experience it yourself.
The music in this anime is so well done, it really accompanies the vibe of the show, in every way. It won't be difficult for you to make easy connections between music and some characters, and I'm really sure it will leave a mark on you, it sure is memorable. I really appreciate music in anime shows, so believe me when I say it is really good.
Speaking of music, the songs played in the anime (intro, outro, etc.) are too good, you'll find yourself singing them in no time.
I really think everyone should watch this anime, and I also think everyone can find something inside it they would really like, as I found too. It leaves a lot of room for reflection and, of course, feelings. Everyone will experience this different, so I really recommend you to watch this with someone else, so you can talk with someone about it.
But of course, I warn you, you won't be the same you were before watching it, your life will change, for good.
