So, this anime kicks off with a bang—honestly, I was hooked right from the start. It throws you straight into a chaotic, apocalyptic world with a mix of steampunk and zombies, which is always a win in my book. The first few episodes? Super solid. The action, the suspense, and the world-building really pull you in, and I was excited to see where it was going to take me. But, man, does it speed up quickly. It almost feels like the show is in a rush to hit the finish line, and as much as I enjoyed the ride, I couldn’t help but wish it had taken its time a little more.
Usually, I feel like a lot of anime—especially ones that are based on manga—move a bit too slowly. You know, dragging things out over multiple seasons just to keep you hanging around. But this one? The opposite problem. It could have easily stretched into two, maybe even three seasons, and really fleshed out the world and the characters. Instead, it crammed everything into one season, plus a movie, and left me with a bunch of unanswered questions that popped up during all the fast-paced, action-packed scenes.
That said, I still think it’s a pretty good watch. If you're into zombies, apocalyptic settings, or dystopian vibes, this one definitely has something for you. The action scenes? Absolutely killer—fluid animation, tons of high-stakes moments, and some pretty intense battles that had me glued to the screen. It’s one of those shows where, if you’re just in it for the action and the adrenaline, you’re probably going to love it.
But if you're like me and want a bit more depth—like, what’s the real deal with the Kabane? Where did the virus come from? What’s the bigger picture here?—well, you might find yourself wishing for a little more. It’s a bummer because the world they set up is really interesting, and I feel like there was so much more they could have explored. More backstory, more lore, and definitely more character development.
Even so, the mix of genres is fun. You’ve got your classic zombie apocalypse with a twist of steampunk, plus some cool themes of survival, sacrifice, and what it means to be human in a messed-up world. For people who love that kind of thing, this anime is a good pick. Visually, it’s got some great moments, and the setting is unique enough to keep you watching, even if some parts feel a bit rushed.
To be totally honest, there were times when I skipped through a few bits—just a heads-up. The pacing can be a little too fast for its own good, and it definitely took away from the overall experience for me. But hey, if you’re looking for something that’s action-packed and doesn’t slow down, this anime could be right up your alley. It’s a fun watch, and while it left me with some lingering questions and a craving for more, I’d still recommend giving it a go—especially if you’re a fan of fast-paced, adrenaline-pumping dystopian horror.
