Selon moi, ce qui fait qu'une histoire est intrigante c'est avant tout le but / l'objectif final du personnage principal. C'est le schéma que de nombreuses œuvres grand public choisissent : cela permet de ne pas laisser le spectateur sans questionnement, et de toujours garder un fil rouge. Fable déroge à la règle, et se pénalise tout seul.
Fable raconte l'histoire d'un tueur à gage, génie parmi eux. Pendant 1 an il est contraint par son patron de mener une vie normal, sans bavure et sans meurtre. Il tente grâce à l'aide de yakuzas de mener une vie paisible, mais cela ne sera en aucun cas de tout repos. Tout au long de l'animé nous suivons simplement la double vie de Fable : pas de quête, pas d'antagoniste principal, seulement des missions annexes, qui de plus n'apportent rien de concret au personnage.
Néanmoins, je tiens à souligner la réussite en terme de richesse des personnages : la série ne comporte que 25 épisodes et on a l'impression de parfaitement connaître les personnages (en apparence bien sûr) tout en gardant une part d'ombre. Chacun des personnages secondaire à ses raisons de faire partie de l'histoire et l'univers n'en est pas surchargé. Tout ça sans forcer sur les éclipses temporelles, qui cassent par fois la dynamique.
Un assez grand respect pour le travail d'animation qui a été réalisé, et qui est d'ailleurs une assez grande réussite. Bien sûr ce n'est pas aussi audacieux que certains animés, avec des animations assez simpliste sur les bords, mais les animateurs ont réussi à éviter les pièges et ont même su donné une direction artistique originale à l'œuvre.
Le personnage de Fable est charismatique et imposant, il m'a donné envie de le voir réussir, mais il aurait peut être été une bonne option de le voir s'améliorer grâce à cette expérience. Il en est que peu inspirant pour des spectateurs comme moi.
J'attribue une note de 7/10 pour la réussite scénaristique et artistique, mais j'aurai attendu une intrigue qui me fonde plus dans l'ambiance de l'œuvre et me donne envie de voir la suite, en corrélation avec les autres séries que j'ai pu voir.

Nevertheless, I'd like to emphasize the success in terms of the richness of the characters: the series is only 25 episodes long, and we feel as though we know all the characters perfectly (on the surface, of course), while still retaining some of the shadows. Each of the secondary characters has his or her own reasons for being part of the story, and the universe isn't overloaded with them. All this is achieved without forcing temporal eclipses that sometimes break the dynamic.
Quite a lot of respect for the animation work that's been done, and which is actually quite successful. Sure, it's not as daring as some anime, with simplistic animation around the edges, but the animators managed to avoid the pitfalls and even gave the work an original artistic direction.
The Fable character is charismatic and imposing, and made me want to see him succeed, but it might have been a good option to see him improve through this experience. It's just not inspiring for viewers like me.
I give it a score of 7.1/10 for artistic and story success, but I would have expected a plot that would have brought me more into the mood of the work and made me want to see the sequel, in correlation with the other series I've seen.
