I regreted watching this Anime. This is one of those animes that you would see in some youtube shorts or tiktok videos, they would show u some pretty interesting scenes which would make u want to watch the show. I really hated the ending of the story of this show, its very disappointing no matter what you think of it.

We all know that most romance love triangle stories end up with the main character choosing the first girl that he had been in love with and not the 2nd girl. But the author could've atleast made some character developments or heart warming moments to make the watchers and readers like that female character, but somehow the author made the 2nd girl (Ririna) get way more better scenes and more screen time that Takasaki has. Ofc if Ririna has better scenes and way more better parts than Takasaki, ofc most people would like her more than Takasaki. I know everyone are always so disappointed when their favorite waifu didnt win, but this is just unfair, Ririna had almost 95% screen time and scenes more than Takasaki has on the whole show. Takasaki didn't even show us any character development and she looked like a side character rather than a Female lead for the MC. The author could've made this whole anime/manga way better if they actually made the story more deeper and more interesting. Most romance animes are aimed towards girls especially if its in the Shoujo genre of Anime, but the author of Love and lies made the story like, they're targeting not only girls but also shounen fans (boys) to get to watch/read Love and lies. Even if they are trying to target both audience they could've done a better job to make a better ending and writing for the characters.

Ririna should've won, I know its not my decision to say which of the girls should win, but if they took Ririna route rather than Takasaki, the story could've gotten better and made more fans actually like the story. Ik i might just be complaining like those Miku fans in TQQ who was all mad since Miku didn't win and yotsuba did, well for me i really like Nino alot and even though she lost, i accepted the ending, since the author really portrayed and did everything well for Yotsuba to actually win. That's something the author of Love and Lies couldn't do, which disappointed alot of their fans and readers/watchers. If they wanted Takasaki to actually win, they could've made her more lovable and have more screentime that she would actually stand at the same lvl and Ririna and have fans choose who is the best girl.

The story idea and theme was very unique, to have teenagers have their marriage arranged once they turn 16 by the goverment. The Main character also didnt have that much development towards the whole show not even once. He might probably be one of the worst MC's in the romance genre together with Kazuha from Rent a Girlfriend.
They actually created a pretty similar anime with the same theme back in 2022 and it had a better writen story and characters than this show. It's called "More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers", its basically the same as Love and Lies, The Main character likes some girl, then he gets assigned to this new girl to be his wife, and in the end he chose the 2nd girl over his first love. Basically they gave us justice and what we wanted, because Love and Lies didnt give us the best possible outcome.

Im not hating at this show, I really like it very much since the theme and story was very unique and i really like Ririna, but the only problem I have with this show is that, it feels rushed and the characters and story is poorly written.
Anways i will give this show a 7/10
