I was aware there was going to be an "unhappy ending" since I had heard of this film through Twitter. But I didn't expect this man. But it's nice to get this side of love/Yuri rather than always this ideal perfect ending. But I feel so bad for Sui and I emphasize with her a lot.
Summary: Basically two young Korean girls fall in love. Dealing with the highs and lows of a relationship growing up and apart.
For a short film I think it accomplishes what it set to convey and did it very well in a small window of time! It reminds me of the Kase-san film honestly in a way. I give the film 9/10. I rate 10's being favorites so it's really close but not to that tier. I personally really enjoyed the animation and music. Nothing crazy but very solid! I think the environments especially were well done! The time setting seems to be early 2000's with the use of flip phones, cd player, and even show an exact year of 2003 towards the near end.

Small Rant... Spoiler Warning!
In Yi-gyeong's breakup email/text - it's very evident she was self aware of her actions. I want to deep dive into them because the breakup was the important piece to the entire film rather than the good moments/start of her relationship with Sui.
I really don't like Yi-gyeong at all because of the behaviors and treatment she showed to Sui.
But the irony in this is Yi-gyeong has this regret afterwards. Not knowing what you have until its gone. That's my interpretation at least.
I think the Heron is representative of Sui being that good fortune in her life on top of their first interaction. But it fleeing when she was with Eunji was symbolic to losing it. Same at the end where the Heron flies off. Going the distance. But she still remembers and thinks of her...
All in all, I really loved this film. It's not something to comeback to over and over. But rather, something raw and unspoken in the negative side when it comes to dating and falling in/out of love. Same with the struggle of being a lesbian thrown in just a bit in there.
