After completing this anime, the only thing that came to my mind was, "so... what exactly is the plot of this story?"

The story follows the protagonist, Elise de Clorance, who was killed in her original life. She was reincarnated into modern Japan and was determined to help people as repentance to her previous life deeds. This led to her becoming a renowned surgeon in the world of medicine. However, a fatal accident caused her to lose her life and she was reincarnated back into her original body as Elise de Clorance. After having turned over a new leaf in her second life, Elise was determined to walk down the path of medicine again.

The entire story thereafter talks about Elise wanting to pursue medicine as a career instead of being married to the crown prince as she originally wanted. This, of course, led to many confusions to the sudden change of heart as Elise was known to be a selfish and spoiled lady (which was also what led to her demise in her first timeline). While it is heartening to see Elise learned from her past mistakes and had development in her character very early on in the show, it was also kind of a mistake to do so in my opinion.

The story lack any promising plot that drives it. What we know, so far, is that Elise's decision to not marry the crown prince and to pursue a career in medicine had change her future. But that is it. There is no further indication of why Elise was brought back to her original body after having led a second life.

There are definitely some things going on that could potentially affect the kingdom. I mean, let's be realistic here. But because the main protagonist of the story is Elise and not the crown prince lacks that special ingredient and opportunity to see how Elise could use her medical knowledge to good use which could possibly lead to the salvation of the kingdom.

However, the series seems to focus solely on what had changed after Elise decided to pursue another path in her life and basically follows her day to day life in the hospital. You could call this a slice-of-life anime because that is really what the whole show is about: Elise pursuing her life as a doctor.
