All the animes that I have watched have either been recommended to me by my friends or I watched it because it was very popular. But this anime, I came across it randomly one day while browsing Netflix. and saying that I discovered a gem is an understatement.

Before I get into the review, I want to specify that I haven't read the manga yet and i'm reviewing based on only the anime. I might read it in the future but not for now.
It is such a unique and refreshing genre. I can say it's a blend of supernatural elements, humor, and interesting story telling. It follows two high schoolers momo and Okarun.
To settle their debate, they challenge each other: Momo will investigate a rumored alien hotspot, while Okarun will explore a location haunted by a vengeful spirit. This bet leads them into a chaotic spiral as both the aliens and spirits turn out to be real—and far more dangerous than either of them imagined
From this point, the series dives into an adventurous narrative filled with supernatural battles, comedic escapades, and a growing camaraderie between the two protagonists. As Momo and Okarun face increasingly strange and dangerous threats, they discover more about themselves and each other, forming a genuine partnership despite their initial differences.
And I have to say, momo is one of the best-written female characters in recent times.
but my favorite character is definitely Turbo Granny. Turbo Granny is a ghostly entity haunting a specific location in the story, known for her speed and terrifyingly comical antics.
Over time, Turbo Granny’s role shifts. While initially an antagonist, her interactions with the main characters become more complex, sometimes helping them in unexpected ways. From my initial research (by research I mean a quick Google search) I found out that Turbo Granny seems to be inspired by Japanese urban legends and ghost stories, particularly tales of vengeful spirits or bizarre supernatural entities.
Dan Da Dan excels in its depiction of fast-paced, high-energy action sequences. The animation is incredibly fluid, with dynamic camera angles and seamless motion that amplifies the intensity of battles.
And the opening is one of the best ones i heard in the recent times. its so catchy and amazing. and i kid you not its my ringtone right now. It was produced by creepy nuts, the same artists who produced bling bang bang born .
Whether you’re a fan of action-packed supernatural stories, offbeat humor, or character-driven narratives, Dan Da Dan offers a unique blend of all these elements. It’s an anime that surprises and delights at every turn, cementing its place as a must-watch for anime enthusiasts looking for something unconventional and fun.
definitely looking forward to season 2!
