This anime was truly enjoyable for me. A female protagonist who is always misunderstood despite her kind intentions and, as what the title says, is the villainess of the story.
(Picture Source: SafeShell VPN thru' Google Image Search)The synopsis is about our main protagonist, Yumiella, who is actually a modern day Japanese reincarnated into her favourite otome game, and as the villainess of the game herself. Due to her being a gamer, Yumiella sets out to make herself stronger before she started to attend school. Hence, the title "Villainess Level 99".
I enjoyed the story a lot, and it made me smiled at the end when Yumiella found love and true friendship despite her hard beginnings. It is the one of those anime where you get to see the supporting characters maturing and finally accepting Yumiella for who she is.
(Picture Source: Sportskeeda thru' Google Image Search)Of course, the show is not without its flaws. The most infuriating factor for me in the show was the prince, Edwin.
(Picture Source: Aniplus Asia on X thru' Google Image Search)One thing about Edwin is that he is in love with Alicia, the supposed protagonist of the otome story. And also, he is of royalty. Which means he is privy to state secrets. You know what this boy did? HE WENT AND TELL ALICIA THE STATE SECRETS!
I MEAN BOY! IT IS CALLED A STATE SECRET FOR A REASON! JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T WISH TO KEEP SECRETS TO THE LOVE OF YOUR LIFE DOESN'T MEAN YOU SPILL ALL YOUR SECRETS TO HER!

Ahem, anyway, at least he had a redeeming quality which is admitting to Yumiella that he has been completely wrong about her entirely and gave a more sincere apology. It is one of those wholesome moments in the anime though it came a bit too late into the story... The reason I said this is because the show had already made us form a negative kind of impression on to these characters.
(Picture Source: Screen Rant thru' Google Image Search)If you are wondering if the heroine of the story is a naive and dumb character, I would tell you, don't worry, she is nothing like the other one in the other popular similar anime. Comparing to that one, Alicia is a lot more likeable.
