Everyone loves Batman for different reasons, and this animation explores some of these ways with great art direction, animation and narrative over all. It really puts in perspective how everyone takes something different from Batman, while understanding the true essence of the character. I absolutely loved every episode and have very minor complaints over all.
Have I Got a Story for You: This episode was one of my standouts as it talks about something an aspect of Batman stories I find very interesting; people's different reactions to and perception of Batman. And it does so in a very clever way. It essentially tells a very short story in the perspective of 3 kids and each of them sees The Dark Knight in a different way.
Crossfire: A very solid episode with my favorite Batman design out of all the episodes. The fact that it's not in Batman's perspective really makes it special. Like I said it has my favorite Batman design, and it has a great depiction of him. He's almost like mythological character here, loved it.
Field Test: While the art-style wasn't my favorite, I really admired the fact that it tells a story where Batman's most important principle gets tested, and the way it tells it. The way how the episode depicts Batman's shock and state of terror when he realizes that a man got shot because of him was especially great.
In Darkness Dwells: This whole episode feels like it came straight out of Batman: The Animated Series, and that's a huge compliment. The dirty and gritty art-style of this episode was my favorite aspect of it. While not telling a particularly special story, it features great depiction of Scarecrow, which is probably my favorite Batman villain, so I might be a little biased here.
Working Through Pain: This was absolutely my favorite episode; it captures everything I love about Batman perfectly and presents it with beautiful art and animation, all the while telling it's short yet very effective story with great narrative structure. I have no complaints whatsoever about this episode, loved it.
Deadshot: The blandest out of all the episodes in my opinion. It's art-style was very boring too. On top of this unlike the other episodes it doesn't tell it's story in a nuanced way, while saying this might be little unfair, I think all the other episodes spoiled me a little. But I really loved the last conversation between Bruce and Alfred.
Like I said in beginning I had very little complaints about the whole thing and had to get into nitpicking territory. It's very sad seeing people forget about
and/or ignore this beautiful animation. It's a must watch if you like Batman even the slightest bit.
