This review comes from someone who is up to date on the manga. And I'm talking a lot from a manga readers perspective, Good and Bad reviews.
As an absolute fan of this manga I was really hesitant about starting this new season of Blue Lock, social networks had sold it to me very badly, but finally, it was much better than what I saw and heard.
There were obviously a SO MANY of wasted moment that made it either unmemorable compared to the manga or reduced the credibility of the player that made the action a lot of side character were left impactless because of this, either in their skills or in their motivation. And the majority of the best moments lacked impact and were yes literally less well animated than the manga and some were so ugly and ridiculous they made me laugh.
But there are aspects that the anime managed to bring and that are really incredible like the unparalleled atmosphere of the stadium with the fans I think it's my favorite part of this adaptation the screaming fans made me feel such a hype, the stadium was so alive I felt like I was there!
Especially during Isagi's final interview when everyone was shouting his name I was shocked and happy.
I'm glad that at least Nagi and Shidou had pretty clean animation that shocked me and was almost at the level of the manga, but that's to be expected from a 2024 anime so I'm not shocked too much compare to what animation can do these days. They were "good" animation for Bachira, Leo and Baro as well liked them a lot but still a glow-down from the manga so I'm less mad.
The colors in white and black are way to mastered in the manga, which is used to make more impact and dark theme for some scene or the white to shock and pause the time for exemple, and in the anime those point where not adapted, sometimes the colors were either not controlled or ruined the scene.
The auras are just disgusting most of them were just despicable especially those of isagi in green I hate them sm ("aura" is not the effect like Shidou wing or Aiku snake, Barou Lion)

Or I could show one of the moment that shocked a lot of manga readers it's this panel, in the manga this panels was extremely intense, the entrance to the stadium was breathtaking, fortunately in the anime this moment was forgettable and hopefully made up for thanks to the screaming fans who brought a whole new dimension that I loved a lot.
Comparing Rin vs Sae manga and anime, too bad it's supposed to be one of the best animation this season has to offer, the anime isn't as good, it's too fast, the impact of Sae's changes of angle during his dribbles is lessened, it's not at all detailed with strokes that are too soft and less impactful, precise and detailed than the manga, whereas the manga is a masterpiece of drawing and art, and on top of that the use of double-page spreads adds so much impact and surprise.

And this panel show the impact, speed and space of the hand of players who play a lot with the hand to create space, which shows the pressure of this technique. Which is used a lot by Rin and Sae in this duel but little emphasized in the anime.
ON THE OTHER HAND I'm a big fan of Isagi's goal in the anime THANKS THE BLUE THEME FINALLY not a shitty green theme, it's too good with all in blue, with puzzle piece, angle on Aiku that we hadn't seen, Isagi's shot repeated a little too much but it's ok, and one of the wow things the camera that falls and spills in the goal the effect, I die of joy.
This is really good one of the best goal of the season with Shidou double and Nagi's goal.

I'm very critical with this adaptation because I had very high expectations and so did most of the other fans, but overall it's not too bad, at least it will make people like I did, watch the anime, which is good enough to makes us want to read the manga.
