My Review of "BLACKFOX"!
It's just like hide and seek, right?
Story
The story follows Rikka Isurugi, a young girl who turned into a more ninja-like lifestyle due to her past conflicts with certain people. Her goal is to get revenge on those who've wronged her family, leading her to meet her roommate Melissa and her friend Mia. Eventually, things begin to escalate greatly, leading to a chaotic threat to lurk Rikka and her goal.
Visuals
The visuals are above average. They aren't special for the most part, but they aren't janky in the slightest.
Characters
Rikka tends to let her emotions get the best of herself. Although clever and quick, Rikka sometimes has her desire for revenge overtake her, leading to unfavorable actions. Her roommate, Melissa, is a very caring and friendly girl. She's concerned for Rikka's behaviors and mainly does the house chores since Rikka is gone for most of the day. Mia is the daughter of the person that Rikka wants to get revenge on. Although she is related with the enemy, Rikka can't get herself to kill her.
The Good
I liked the execution of this anime. I don't think it missed on anything in terms of what the movie was going for. It had good animation, well-designed characters, and a story that is easy to understand. For a short movie, this was very enjoyable.
The Bad
I think what's weighing down the anime is its simplicity. Although it doesn't do anything specifically bad, it doesn't do anything particularly special either. I'm not exactly sure how it could improve on its concept, but I think this is as far as the movie could go in terms of potential.
The Downright Ugly
I didn't find anything downright ugly about this movie.
Is It Worth The Watch?
If you're looking for a relatively short movie to watch, I'd recommend this. It's nothing too complicated to wrap your head around and the quality is pretty decent. However, don't expect anything special. It's not mid, but it's not great either.
