My Review of "SAKAMOTO DAYS"!

Random fact: This is the first anime I’ve watched where I’ve also read the manga (Still reading it too!)
Story
Once upon a time, Taro Sakamoto was hailed as the best assassin of the world. However, after getting married and being threatened not to kill anyone, he ends up getting out of shape and leaving the assassin business. After discovering a huge bounty has been set on his head, Sakamoto and a few other people have decided to track the source of the bounty and end up going down a rabbit hole of other assassins.
Characters
Taro Sakamoto is the main character of this story. He’s not that talkative as he lets his thoughts and actions speak for himself. Despite his looks, he’s very clever and strong, being able to make use of his body in different ways that his regular body couldn’t do. One of his employees, Shin Asakura, has the ability to read minds. He takes advantage of this whenever he gets into fights or tough situations. He’s decently talkative and clever, however he’s not the strongest.
The Good
This anime has my second favorite OP of the season (behind ZENSHU). Even with its recency, the song feels so nostalgic and captures a lively vibe that fits the anime so well. It’s definitely got that catchiness as well. Focusing more towards the story and characters, there’s a reason why it’s one of Shonen Jump’s most popular manga currently, and that’s thanks to its entertaining and action-packed storylines and hilarious and interesting characters. This anime is able to capture the action and comedy to a certain amount (but not to the same length as the manga which will be explained later) where it’s able to stay entertaining throughout each episode.
The Bad
Now, going back to what I said in The Good, this anime did not capture the same level of action that the manga presented. Now, this is definitely because of the lack of detail drawn into those scenes, making it unable to cause as big of an impact on the viewer who’s watching it. There were also a few little tweaks from the manga to the anime that just seemed a bit unnecessary (the slight change in Lu’s outfit) but didn’t cause too much of a bother to me. I will say that the ending was pretty underwhelming (considering how “important” it is to the main storyline).
The Downright Ugly
There’s nothing downright ugly about this anime (thankfully)
Is It Worth The Watch?
If you’ve read the manga or expect really high quality animation, it’s not worth the watch. Otherwise, it’s definitely worth the watch. Personally, I think that this show, despite some flaws, is absolutely worth the watch. However, if you’re indecisive whether to read the manga or watch the anime, the manga is 110% the way to go. I’m still going to watch Part 2 though.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope this helped you with your decision on whether to watch this anime or not! If you already have watched it, I hope that you can agree with me with some of the points I made. ^^
