Her Blue Sky

My review contains slight spoilers, but nothing major.
(Also, it's been 5 years since the movie came out… I'm pretty late to watching it, but I'm glad I found it! And here's my review of Her Blue Sky !)

The frog at the bottom of a well doesn't know the vastness of the sea, but it does know the blueness of the sky.

Her Blue Sky is a film that explores lost dreams, growing up, and reconnecting with the past. But despite what the description says, the movie doesn’t actually involve traditional time travel. Instead, Shinnosuke from 13 years ago just mysteriously appears.

Story :The film follows Aoi Aioi, a high school student who has always looked up to her older sister, Akane. When Aoi was younger, she admired Shinnosuke Kanomura, Akane’s boyfriend at the time, as he practiced guitar and dreamed of becoming a famous guitarist. However, due to certain circumstances, Akane and Shinnosuke broke up. Thirteen years later, Aoi encounters Shinnosuke again, but strangely, he looks exactly the same as he did in the past. ___ Art :One of the most striking aspects of this movie is its animation. The background scenery is so detailed and realistic that it almost feels like a photograph come to life. Whether it's the vibrant autumn leaves, the sunset sky, or the small-town streets.

The character designs also stand out. The art style is very similar to Anohana, which makes sense since both films share the same character designer. The characters' emotions are conveyed through facial expressions and movements makes the story more beautiful.

Characters :__The movie does an excellent job of portraying characters across different age groups and making their interactions feel natural.

One of the best things about this movie is how well the characters communicate. Despite their differences in age, they all share a deep understanding of each other. The film portrays the contrast between teenage dreams and adult responsibilities beautifully.

___ OST :The OST is just great! The music carries a strong nostalgic feeling. Each track fits perfectly with the emotional scenes.

One of my favorite OST is this one, it has an amazing vibe, great sound, and perfectly captures the emotions of the story.

▶ ___ Overall, this movie teaches an important lesson about following your dreams and not letting regret control your future. The story, visuals, and music come together an emotional journey that resonates with anyone who has ever struggled between chasing their dreams. I highly recommend this movie to anyone looking for a slice of life that relates to real life experiences. Hopefully, we get to see more original films like this.

The movie isn't too long either, under 2 hours! Definitely worth the time to watch :)
