My Review of "Promise of Wizard"!

All promises are being broken with this one ?️?️
Story
So the main character, Akira Masaki, gets teleported through an elevator into a universe of wizardry. Every year, a deadly moon arrives to attack their world. Fortunately, the Wizards of the Sage are present to fight whatever threatens their world, and Akira has been chosen to lead them into battle.
Characters
(There are way too many main characters so I’ll stick with the protagonist) Akira Masaki was just a regular girl in her society until she got brought into a new magical world. She’s quite friendly, but not super talkative or extroverted. She’s chosen to lead a group of wizards to protect their world, but she wants to get back home as soon as possible.
The Good
It’s animated alright I guess. The anime showed a bit of promise at the start, but that’s pretty much where all my praise ends.
The Bad
I didn’t like how they would quickly show cards of the protagonist’s thoughts and have it on the screen for only a second. Really, they couldn’t have done it how other anime have done it and just say it? If they really wanted to do it their own way, they could’ve at least left it on the screen for enough time that we can read it. They’re really making us work for the anime. The character dynamics and cliches are very worn out and generic. They don’t do anything interesting with their personalities or stories, making this show more boring than it already was. This is just a pet peeve, but the OP is just so corny to me. The gimmick of the characters singing the “da-da-di-da” part is executed so poorly that it’s the sole reason why I skip the OP every time I watch this show.
The Downright Ugly
I don’t exaggerate this by any means when I say this, but this anime was absolutely built on shaky ground. First of all, it was inspired by a video game that, let’s just say, isn’t interesting by itself. Secondly, the story is boring. It’s not doing anything special, but it’s not about anything somewhat fascinating at all, presenting itself as dull and boring. There are so many questions that are left unanswered by the final episode that needed to be answered so certain aspects of the story would make sense. Not to mention that there are too many “twists” that just makes it so hard to understand what’s going on and what has been going on throughout the anime. Last but not least, the voice acting just doesn’t feel right. This is the first anime I’ve watched where I didn’t like the voice acting at all. Some voices were just obnoxious and annoying to hear while others just lacked emotion when it was needed.
Is It Worth The Watch?
No. Not even close. This is way worse than a waste of time. It’s a waste of time AND a really bad show. It’s a boring story executed in a really basic way with annoying or generic characters. Not to mention that this anime is sourced from a bad video game. It’s no surprise that it’d be bad, but it’s a surprise that it’s THIS bad.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope this helped you with your decision on whether to watch this anime or not! If you already have watched it, I hope that you can agree with me with some of the points I made. ^^
