I think that this series has a lot to love, from the fight choreography, animation and character desigs to the way the plot eventually develops into quite an engaging story. The story itself is not really that realistic, and that fact is one of its strengths, embracing the wacky and fantastical aspects of the world that come in throughout the series. What brings it downhill is probably the cohesion throughout the plot of the series right about where the plot develops its story to be a bit more complex than it seemed to be (right around the middle of the series). The specific aspect that needed more attention was the world building, which would have not only allowed for the characterst to be fully grounded in the world that the series had set up for itself, but also would have allowed for the series to have eased into the second act. Though I guess that the world building isn't necessarily important in this kind of series that's based in comedy and action, it still would have been a nicer touch to have my suspension of disbelief appealed to a bit so that I could be more invested as a whole. I'm not an expert but that's just my opinion. Other than this one issue, I enjoyed this anime as a deviation from mainstream fanservice anime, taking advantage of the fanservice and making it work in the series' favour. The art pops, the music brings the tension out and the characters make me root for the main character's success. I would say that this, as a contributor to the slice of life genre, is good in establishing a likable cast and allowing for them to develop. Even with the timeskip happening to spruce up the plot and have everything make sense, though the perspective swap did rush through the parts we already saw, character development still happens and manages to strengthen the relationship that the character has with the rest of the cast. They say that the best way to rewrite a story is to do it from a different perspective and that's exactly what this swap did for me, though it wasn't that mindblowing and the series didn't take full advantage of its different perspective, I appreciate that this original anime decided to take that unique turn. Didn't blow my mind but was a refreshing experience for the slice of life anime of the contemporary anime seasons.
