Your name, a masterpiece of a movie. No spoilers in this review, just general summary and comments.
(If you want to skip the summary of the story which MAY just slightly reveal some little information and some clues about the story, then please skip through the thick 3 paragraphs below to my ratings and comments.)
Summary:
At the start of the movie you are thrown into the story, soon realising the 2 main characters' connections with each other, body swapping and so begins their story.
It is focused on comedy for the first bits of the movie, as the 2 main characters make do with their counter part's body in a life they are unfamiliar with. Their personalities are slowly presented as they progress with their lives (yes plural lives).
As the movie progresses the story builds up, starting to set stage for the later parts of the movie as well as reaching the near end of the first "bits" of the movie. Then the magic happens, as the story turns on itself into a magnificent tale, plot twist which immediately hooks the audience into interest and onto the edge of their seats, but it is just the start of the long roller coaster ride that is going to follow.
The story then speeds on to full course to climax, as the story is slowly revealed by the main character and the audience are shown to the actual story. It gets a bit complicated but let's just say the 2 characters aren't necessarily "linked in the same perspective/time" as everyone had thought so. Soon after the climax, the story slows down back onto normal track as the movie concludes itself soon in an also great fashion.
Ratings on different areas of the movie:
Animation: 10/10
Look the animation is just amazing, I would seriously question if there are anybody in this world who had seen this movie who would argue otherwise.
Music: 10/10
Music is just like the animation, amazing, though of course everyone have their OWN, UNIQUE taste of music. So if you think otherwise then yes remember this is just MY opinion.
Story: 9.5/10
I loved the story of this movie, elegantly written and all artistically woven together as well as the many moments of absolute hype as well as tear storm (I was teary throughout the last parts of the movie, cried too at some scenes). While it is amazing, I do think the final, concluding parts of the movie could've been done with more time instead of hinting at the final end immediately after the climax, but hey I don't even know how to express it clearly so maybe I'm just being too critical and picky as I'm writing a review.
Characters: 10/10
I don't think there was a single character in the movie who you either just didn't want to exist or wanted them to die in some way badly. They all have their own unique, colourful personalities as shown through their interactions with the main characters. Also they are all pretty important to the story itself so they are pretty good.
Pacing:9.5/10
Literally the same as my story comment, good all the way, the tiny little pick at the end is just me being extremely critical to be honest.
Emotion:10/10
Look I teared up and cried towards the end so that says pretty clearly about my view on the emotional impacts.
Overall:10/10
Nothing to say more really, I've said all I wanted basically so let's just repeat that I think this is a masterpiece of a movie, immortal movie.
I hope you people don't mind this uh, gigantic review, (I just kept typing and it went into an essay). Also if there's anything I said that's like not true or something in the summary please forgive me, I watched this like some time ago. Again this is a review, so it is based on MY experience with the movie, you may think it ain't no masterpiece of 10/10, you may think I'm spitting some random words in the review you may think this is a prank of a movie and should be buried under the ground. Hey, it's all opinions :)
Also, I'm not of an English background or was educated in English as primary language so please overlook some potential grammar problem or expression screw up. TY
