My Review of "7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy!"

The “Villainess” doesn’t seem to live as much of a carefree life as the anime progresses….
Story
Rishe Irmgald Weitzner was about to get engaged until she was rejected. Initially, she couldn’t believe what was happening. She was rejected by her parents and falsely labeled as a criminal. When she died, she returned to the same point in time when she got rejected. She would loop 6 times, following different paths each time. After encountering one of her killers in a previous loop, Rishe marries them in hopes to avoid her death and future conflicts.
Characters
Rishe is quite the smart and friendly girl. Despite being labeled as a villainess in the anime, she’s quite merciful and prefers peace over violence. Using what she remembers in her previous loops, she tries her hardest to fight for peace in order to survive. The villain that she’s married to in her 7th loop, Arnold Hein, the man responsible for killing Rishe in a previous time loop, is the opposite of Rishe, being more cruel and preferring violence over peace.
The Good
I like how this story went. I don’t really know the best way to word it, but I believe that the pacing and writing was done well for this anime and really made the most out of what they had. I will say that the anime did feel a bit cliche, but I think it honestly benefited the storyline. This show definitely gave off cozy romance vibes and I how the dynamic between Rishe and Arnold was portrayed. Even though this isn’t really a show that “stands out”, it does its best to still remain as a good anime.
The Bad
My main complaint about this anime is the idea of the protagonist being a villainess. It just felt very misleading after seeing how the MC behaves. You’re telling me someone that stands for fair treatment and helps people with antidotes is considered a villainess? I just don’t think that’s true. The anime still does a decent job with its own story. I just wish this show wasn’t marketed as having a villainess MC. It’s more so just the heroine marrying the villain and just coincidentally becoming a “villainess”. Then again, please take this with a grain of salt as I’m not super experienced with villainess anime (I’ve only watched/read like 3-4 of these). Someone who’s more experienced with villainess anime has recently told me that this is how villainess anime are, which is pretty misleading.
format(webp))The Downright Ugly
Despite my complaints, I wouldn’t say that there’s anything downright ugly with this anime.
Is It Worth The Watch?
If you are someone like me (which I assume you aren’t) who expected a villainess that’s actually evil, I wouldn’t say this is worth the watch. However, if you want a good, casual villainess anime, I’d say that this is worth considering watching. Despite not meeting all of my expectations, this show is still good.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope this helped you with your decision on whether to watch this anime or not! If you already have watched it, I hope that you can agree with me with some of the points I made. If you enjoyed this review, I would greatly appreciate a follow too! ^^
