I have decided that ecchi shows should be rated with their own criteria, because my normal scoring card has 3 out of 4 scores related in some way to story which let's be honest does not matter that much for an ecchi show. Instead we will go with this special ecchi card, where 3 out of 4 scores are related to sex appeal instead of story.

This show starts off with an incredibly boring premise, with the English name being the absolute worst. Chained Soldier? WTF is that supposed to mean? At least the Japanese name hints at S&M action so you know what to expect. Moving on to the poster, you can see some really uninspired costumes with the main girl just wearing some standard imperial Japan military uniform with some boring standard issue katana. If you start watching you'll see even more of these zero effort design choices, like for example the house these characters live in, just looks like some random onsen resort building even though it's supposed to be a forward military base.

However don't let any of that taint your expectations, this show is actually quite decent and they certainly spent all their brain power in the right places because it has a strong story, fun characters and probably most importantly for this show, creative ecchi scenarios.

The gimmick of this show is the main girl's super power can turn our main guy into this white/red powered up form to fight bad guys, but after he's done she is forced to "reward" him with you-know-what. Naturally the more intense the fight, the bigger the reward, which actually raises the excitement for the fights as well. Not only is each "reward" session different, the same gimmick can be used by other girls meaning rewards from these other girls as well, so there's never a lazy copy-paste boring reward, the variety is certainly a big selling point of this show.

The story is not bad at all, that's right if you ignore the stupid boring background premise and just go with the current state of these characters, many of them have legit development and character arcs. I think my favorite will be that girl with blue hair and minigun arm, who will also be involved in a truly awesome fight against an opponent with time stop ability. Yes better than Jojo vs. Dio. Other girls also have some interesting abilities that are intelligently used for fights, I don't think I've seen a single moment where you would question "why doesn't she just use her power?", which probably can't be said of most other shows. As Chainsaw Man have taught us, knowing a girl better will also make her reward session better, so this is great synergy for the show.

The big weakness of the show is going to be presentation, character anatomy is not very good, anatomically questionable shots are common, which sometimes diminishes the effect of the reward sessions. Unfortunately characters also have huge breasts, which are more difficult to handle because big breasts should deform more but they don't, or at least not properly. I've giving it a 3 for about average level for an ecchi show, nothing to write home about.
