It's a story about 2 girls on a journey, looking for food and chilling together in the ruins of the world they once knew.

My favorite character is Yuuri. She's a silly girl, always looking to have fun and shoots stuff to get what they need in their journey. I also love Chito. She is a smart girl, who writes on a journal about their journey, and reads books they find sometimes, as hey travel together.
I really liked both the opening and the ending in this show, also very nice that they were voiced by Chito and Yuu’s voice actresses.

On their journey, they’ve found a guy who made a bridge out of a building using explosives. They used a lift to go up the big tower they found and the guy gave them a camera before he left, which Chito really loved using after Yuuri told her how to focus.
The more I watched, the more I wanted to see more of it, more of their journey. It explored many themes, and talked about stuff like meaning of life and death, war, hope, despair. It did so in an interesting way, it was pretty deep and cool.
They find a house, and think about how they don’t have one, as Chito keeps taking notes. They imagine together how it would feel, to live there, with all the things they want, like a bed, bookshelves, and other things. They say their house is the road.
In another base they’ve found, they discovered the joy of rain, the sounds it makes on objects and the feelings it gives. Yuu found a stick and started using it. It was very funny when she tried to make a sound by bonking Chito, saying since it makes a sound there must be nothing inside her head, and she got bonked back:) .They’ve put their hats so it rains on them, which sounded really nice. They did so with many other things, which was silly.
I liked it when they made food together, it was really heartwarming. Potatoes, sugar, and salt; they’ve made rations. The bread theye made was delicious, they really enjoyed it. It was nice to see their reactions.
It was so nostalgic when they’ve found some names and items representing mementos to people who lived there once, and a statue watching over them.
Next stop, Yuu found another stick and started going silly mode, feeling magic power coming from the moonlight on it. She hit things around to test its power, and eventually hit Chito:d . She jumped on her and told her: no more sticks. They found some bottles, and drank more of them, and it appears they were beer or something? They got drunk, and acted very cute and funny. Chi-chan tried to eat Yuuto’s hair, which is definitely one of my favorite scenes.
They had a talk about living things, and about life, and Chito said machines don’t have consciousness, having found one that was moving around. Yuu asked what if they’ve found a machine that would say “Hello!”, and Chito said that there is no such machine. They found a fish, and a robot taking care of the it and the place. Silly Yuu considered eating it, but Chiito said it’s the last fish and the robot said no, so they were guided around by the machine, and they explored, then took a bath and went to sleep. They were woken up by a huge machine, which was aiming to demolish the area. Yuu found out she has empathy for it, and decided to save the fish, by destroying that huge machine with some kind of bombs. They saved the fish and the robot. Watching Yuu save the fish she wanted to eat was nice.
Then, they took some kind of train and had a deep talk about time, after finding an old clock. They once again were remembered how their time is limited by the food, planning to keep going as far as they can. Yuu’s item that she kept thinking it would come in handy started making some sounds, and the two had a talk about wavelengths, and about music and the feelings it gives. They looked at the sunset, pretty red, wondering if it feels sad because of the music, or something else.
On the next place, they had a talk about living things, and about life, and Chito said machines don’t have consciousness, having found one that was moving around. Later on, they’ve found a cute, tiny animal, named it Kitteh. Apparently, it was eating bullets, even big ones. That was unexpected, lol. It showed them a path they eventually followed, to the wavelengths it was detecting. “Let’s go see. Let’s go see something else we don’t understand” This line was very beautiful and deep.
They were at some point wondering why they wear helmets, and they ironically got into a situation when they needed them. Some big humanoid thing fell and they had to run and protect their heads.
Later on, they’ve found some old and really strong weapons. Chito teaches us that weapons aren’t toys and they should be avoided. Because of the fire after the shot, they rested there that day to stay safe. Chito took more notes.
Kitten lead them to a really huge submarine, where they found some device which let them connect their camera, and they’ve found the pics they took as well as pics from other people, including pics of their own past! It was good to see their past. but also very depressing when they saw the images before the war, how humans fought each other for culture and other things. They sleep, and a while later another animal of Kitteh’s species goes away with Yuu in his mouth. Chito recalls all the memories together with Yuu, thinks she would be all alone without her, and runs to save her from that thing. For a moment I thought she was.. I almost cried here, wishing it’s not true, wishing to see her survive and for the two to keep living together in their journey. Chi-chan finds Yuu, finding out from that thing that they don’t eat humans, he only ate Yuu’s device. I was so relieved to see Yuu safe, and almost teared up of happiness seeing them again together.
The animals left since there was nothing left for them to do, saying the world is ending. Chi=chan and Yuu were looking at each other, saying it doesn’t matter even if the world was ending, since they were together. This was very deep. I am so glad to see that they are together until the end, that they keep on their journey together. It’s very sad that the world is ending, but at least they were together. Yuu tells Chito she isn’t lonely because she’s with her, and Chito does the same. They keep going, aiming to reach the top stratum, and Yuu shares the idea of following the way that the wind blows, which Chi-chan likes and they continue their journey. Yuu suggests going to the moon after reaching the top, a very fun thing to say. They promise each other they would go there afterwards.
I loved this anime. I loved the world, I loved the music, the characters were fun, the story was really good, the artstyle, everything was perfect. I’ve been meaning to watch this show very much. I’m glad I did, and I’ll probably rewatch it many times. It was very wholesome, silly and cute, and fun to watch this anime.
